We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Life is very short, if you’re not doing what you love, how are you gonna feel about your life when you’re old and you look back in it?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a musician who grew up in West Hollywood and went to school with some of the biggest up and coming musicians from the 1980’s.

I went to Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, where Slash from Guns n’ Roses, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rami Jaffe of The Foo Fighters, and many others… my original band, “Warrant” (known for hits like “Cherry Pie”, and Down Boys” was also born in those halls..

You can read more about my story, as well the development of many of the bands from that era in the New York Times bestseller “Nothin’ But A Good Time”.

So my story is somewhat interesting, to say the least..

I started playing in the LA Clubs with Warrant at the age of 15, and was Warrant til I was 18. A year after leaving the band, they eventually got a record deal and had some success.

My time with them was really important in molding who I have become.

The truth is, if I were still with them, who knows what would have become of me… probably a lot of drugs and alcohol, ex-wives and a bitter disposition. Instead, I have a wonderful life with a beautiful family and a constant yearning to learn more and more about things I don’t know..

Fortunately, I have continued to play music, and spent years developing my voice and writing songs… today. I have over 100 songs ready to go, and I am currently learning how to make them sound great in the recording process.

I also have a great new band called, “Anita Squeeze” (pronounced, “I need a Squeeze”), and we have been getting a great response from everyone who’s seen or heard us.

Our first single, “Throw Me A Line” is on YouTube now!!! Please like and Subscribe

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LA is such an amazing place to grow up… the things these eyes have seen, and the people I’ve had the chance to meet & befriend make people from every other part of the world envious. I never take that for granted. We have everything, The beach, the snow, the city, the country… it’s no wonder the movie industry is here.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, there are so many people in my life that are responsible for molding who have become… starting with my parents… There aren’t words to express how they have affected me…I love them and miss them both everyday.

I am so lucky because have many friends who support what I do, and I’m even luckier to have former friends who have disappointed me and taught me lessons that I now know not to repeat.

I am blessed with a beautiful wife and two amazing daughters who continue to mold who I am becoming.
