We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Tilghman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I believe the answer to this is to ask your heart what it is believing for. If what you want and believe for hasn’t happened yet, keep going because that dream and passion was placed inside you for a reason. We all bring something so unique to the world, no one else is you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a songwriter, artist and producer. I have been writing and performing for a long time but I only just began producing about a year ago. I am so excited about all the new projects I am working on. Producing is challenging and fun. I honestly never thought I would be producing music on my own, it’s been so rewarding to craft so much in my projects.

Producing has not been easy and I still feel like I barely know anything but it’s been an incredible process to walk through and experience.

I’m so happy I decided to start, it was scary and sometimes it still is scary, but it was so worth it.

Much of my life and story has been about overcoming my anxieties and fears to do the things that seemed impossible. I hope when people listen to my music, they feel empowered to go do whatever is in their heart.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I was still living in LA, my favorite spot was The Americana in Glendale. I used to live right down the street from it. I loved the architecture there, all the lights and the lovely fountain. My husband and I walked there almost every night.

I also love Santa Monica, taking a scooter down Abbott Kinney, grabbing a coffee, and shopping. Another favorite spot I would probably take them is to the Arts District in DTLA. It’s so creative down there, so many places to eat and just so much to see.

If they wanted a little breather from city life, one of my favorite spots to drive to was Mt. Baldy. So serene and peaceful there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people have come alongside me and supported me throughout my life, I’m grateful for each individual. I would have to give a special shout-out to my amazing husband and family. They have done so much, I’m so so thankful for their love and kindness in every season.
