We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
If the dream or goal is big enough, you take all necessary steps in that direction. There is no giving up, but could be some diversion in other directions that still can get to to the end result you’re seeking. Goals and dreams take time, and the way that you utilize that time can only propel you forward. I think giving up is a feeling when you think you have exhausted all options, but sometimes stepping away to gain perspective is needed to get right back to it. You’re never going to feel 100%-in during the process, but as long as you keep your eye on the prize, I think that is what will make or break that journey.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My day-to-day looks a little differently than some as I run my own appointment-based mobile Notary Public services. Starting a small business can seem daunting or difficult, but leaning into the resources I had, I was successfully able to go through the process of being commissioned by the state and set up a small business. Learning if a DBA or an LLC would benefit me more was challenging, but doing research aided me in selecting what best suited this first-time business venture. With today being a digital world, I learned that my online presence needed to be what set me apart from other Notary services in the area.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Getty and The Observatory would absolutely be necessary. My favorite place is UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) on Franklin, the Largo at the Coronet on La Cienega Blvd is a close second! Brunch at Home Restaurant on Hillhurst, or dinner for that matter- great food and outdoor seating is top notch. Ice Cream at Jeni’s Ice Cream also on Hillhurst for dessert, or a midday treat. LACMA would be a must, always great installments. Universal Studios is doing their 60th anniversary retro Studio Tour that I need to get to soon. Prince St. Pizza on E. 3rd street in downtown, and be prepared to just eat it out of your box standing outside.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Throughout my years, there have been many people supporting me along my way. From my family and friends back home encouraging me to chase my dream to California when I was 24. The roommate I met while working in a local theater production that allowed me to stay in his home for a year and a half. To all the incredible class-mates in my Acting class. To meeting my partner that always pushes me in the right direction, and remains forever understanding and supportive- She even had to drive us back from Las Vegas vacation early for an audition.
