Meet Glooms | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Glooms and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Glooms, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’m not sure if I COULD be anywhere else. Thinking about holding down a job or existing in the current US workforce personally sounds like a nightmare. The only thing I’ve found myself being capable of, while expressing myself and feeling any sense of purpose, is music. Until I stop having the urge to create and share those pieces of myself I don’t know that I could fit anywhere else.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I write music for myself and others. I’m currently gearing up to releasing on a 5 song EP with my long-time friend BabyAK that we (by accident) wrote after a traumatic experience that really manifested and outlined the 5 stages of grief and my personal grieving process. I am also personally writing, co-directing, and editing the visuals to go along with the songs.
Looking back I’m not sure how I got to where I am now. Definitely with a lot of help from the talented people around me. It would be ridiculous of me to take even half the credit of those who have given me so much love and support throughout the years. I am extremely privileged and lucky to have the friends and colleagues that I do.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned through my time moving to LA, living here, and existing in entertainment, is to be authentic. Whether it be in music, visual art, or just in everyday life, people respond to authenticity. It’s incredibly important.
If the world should know anything about Glooms, it’s that anything I put out will always come from the heart. I’ll never try to be something I’m not, and I hope that it’s obvious through the experiences and emotions I try to share through the music and visuals I create.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It really depends on the friend and their interests, but recently I went to Little Tokyo for the first time with a few of my friends and had suuuuch a wonderful day.
Another recent spot that I visited, which is typically out of my comfort zone (because it has a bit more of a country feel to it) was a new spot called Desert 5 Spot. It was my first time out in a while because I’ve been in my cave working so much recently, but I’ll be honest to say it was a fun enough time that I don’t necessarily remember the Uber home. Not something I exactly recommend trying to achieve, though.
Food wise, I continue to take people to Fat Sals. It’s not the healthiest choice and it doesn’t try to be, so I try not to go as much as I’d like to (every day), but my god. Sal, if you’re reading this, you are a gentleman and a scholar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my father. He’s going through it right now and continues to push and support me, even when going through so much himself. That’s the kind of person I want to be and hope that I am.
