We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is definitely a huge part of creating. I personally feel like the love of the craft should be present in everything that an artist does, then risks aren’t as scary because its genuine and ultimately for the happiness of the creator. Taking risks has been a huge part of my career as a creator, and has pushed me into different forms of art I never imagined creating. Combining different elements like acting, comedy, and writing into my music videos really has helped me become a better artist!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So I started creating video content in 2018 back in college, uploading short snippets of music/production videos on Instagram, and started to find success in that over time. Consistently writing, editing, producing, mixing, and uploading, I constantly challenged myself to be better with each video. It has definitely been challenging over the years, finding inspiration and staying true to what feels good to me, but to this day I always want people to know that there is no right or wrong way to create, it should always be about the artist being true to themselves. I can’t be more grateful to know that there are people that support me for being exactly who I am.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I just moved to LA, so I don’t think I can answer this as confidently as I’d like to, HOWEVER THE STREET TACOS ARE LEGIT!! IF YOU SEE A TRUCK, DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to personally thank my Instagram supporters for always sharing and supporting my art, and I’d like to thank my family for always supporting me! I’d also like to thank the Protege Crew, 9th Wonder, and the Soul Council for the opportunities to produce and learn under them! Truly a blessing!
