We had the good fortune of connecting with Jovanna Rangel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jovanna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Four years ago, armed with a passion for hosting, putting together exquisite flavors and a heart touched by a single hard working mother (my mom), I embarked on a savory journey as a charcuterie/caterer. As a super mom raising three incredible kids alongside my wonderful husband, I was fueled by the lessons learned from my own upbringing and my own mother’s resilience ignited a fire within me to pay it forward.

And so, Sprinkle of Graze came to be. My small business, born in my own kitchen from a love for hosting and crafting delectable charcuterie boards, quickly became more than just a culinary venture. It became a vessel for giving back to the community that has shaped me.

Beyond the artistry of creating mouthwatering charcuterie masterpieces, my business became a beacon of hope for the community. Through catering events, I not only serve delightful bites but also contribute to the well-being of others by providing support, resources, and a sense of belonging.

In the heart of the business, I discovered the power of using one’s gift for the betterment of others. My culinary skills have become a tool for community building and empowerment. Through various initiatives, from charcuterie workshops to charity events, I aim to instill a message of courage and resilience.

Inspired by the selflessness of my mother, I made it my mission through my business to extend a helping hand to other single mothers facing the challenges of solo parenthood and created blessing boxes. Because while many single mothers are thinking of their children, who thinks of them? The blessing box was created to give them a sense of, “Hey- I see you, keep going, you’re killing it! Kick up your feet and enjoy this charcuterie box, on us!” Something so simple as that can ignite unimaginable fuel in a mothers heart to keep striving no matter what. Which in turn will be a reflection on how her children will see and view the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As the years have unfolded, the echoes of generosity resonate beyond the community, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and resilience. Through the lens of my own upbringing, I learned that success is not just measured in profits but in the positive transformations one can inspire in the lives of others.

I have had the privilege and honor to create and serve amazing people within our community. Sprinkle of Graze has grown so much in just 4 short years. Being televised Live twice on Fox 11 News, as well as serving our Church Community events of over 700 women for 3 years in a row- is a testament that all Women can truly do everything and anything. I want to reach our young small business owners, especially mothers- That we can do all things!

At 35, (now 37) leaving my full time corporate job, to pursue my passion and show my 3 beautiful daughters just how resilient mom is, was something I felt deep within my soul I had to do and surely was judged my some I shared this dream with. But I did it! And I have not looked back since. Taking a chance and risk on my dreams has been so incredibly worth it.

This journey has unfolded as a testament to the idea that everyone possesses a unique gift. I embrace the responsibility of using my culinary prowess to uplift others. Through heartfelt gestures, my small business has thrived as a force for positive change.

And so, in the rhythm of slicing cheeses and arranging meats, my charcuterie/catering venture has become a story of culinary delight, compassion, and the belief that our gifts, when used wisely, can create a tapestry of support and hope for women of all ages. It’s never truly too late to chase after your calling.
