Meet Jr | Podcaster and Artist Manager
We had the good fortune of connecting with Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jr, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was different in the sense that I became more open to others and new ideas to receive the best outcome. Learning to work as a team instead of as an individual to get more work done effectively. Staying focused, determined and consistent.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I started off as an Artist Relations Intern for my friend’s Marketing Agency, Then got promoted to Artist Manager. As I started learning and becoming more creative with managing artists I decided to start up a podcast channel back in April to cater to creatives like myself. Since then we been working with different creatives such as Artists, Videographers, Photographers, Models , fashion designers, etc. Even though its not an easy process starting from zero I still invested time, money, and effort to be able to reach my short term goal that will soon reach my end goals. Some lessons that I learned was to keep working diligently and to not quit when things get tough.(Life’s a roller coaster) I would love for the world to see how we started and to stay connected to see the improvements that we have been working on, as well as leaving feedback to see what we need to work on.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In my opinion I think a dope spot to check in LA is Santa Monica Pier. First of all they have the pier or beach to walk and connect with other people. Also they have an arcade with plenty of games so if you like to be a youth for a few hours that’s the spot. they have restaurants on the pier such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Co and others.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a big shout out to my Mentor/Bestfriend for leading me in this career path Jan Mora along with his creative agency who took me in and taught me the foundations of working in the entertainment industry.
