Meet Julia Garcia-Deveni | Mindset Coach for Women Entrepreneurs

We had the good fortune of connecting with Julia Garcia-Deveni and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are a radical act of self-trust. And anything worth having takes risks both in life and in business. I believe ALL of my success has depended on how much trust I have had in order to take risks. The big risks have had the biggest pay offs, but they were only made possible by the small decisions that have compounded my self-trust prior to.
Small decisions can be anything you say you are going to do in then honoring your word about them. This give s your brain the evidence it needs to cultivate that self-trust. So that when big decisions come up, like to move cross country, you have the courage backed by that self-trust to say “yes, I’m going for it.” And when you take those big risks and compile more evidence that you can take risks and you can handle and support yourself with what comes along with them; then those big risks also compound for your self-trust.
This makes it easier for you and your nervous system to take on big risks and therefore reap big rewards.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
For 10 years I was in the nightlife industry, which was quite toxic and tolling on my mind, body and soul. I also knew deep down I was not living up to my fullest potential. Thankfully this strengthened the desire to care for myself. And with small steps every single day of pouring into my mind, body and self, I was able to find my way out of that industry.
I met my husband, moved out of the country, grew my pilates practice into a full mindfulness studio in just one year, moved back to the US, had two daughters and evolved my business online to what it is today. Essentially, in prioritizing my wellness, I was able to create the life of my dreams and find my truest passion, which is helping other women entrepreneurs
Prioritizing my mind, body and self was the key to overcoming any challenges, making better decisions and finding the confidence in myself and in my journey. This is what I love helping my clients be able to do now in growing those internal resources so they too can create a life and business they’ve always dreamed of. It’s my mission to help thousands of ambitious women be the #1 asset in their life and business. These women already know they are, and I just want to make common knowledge, common practice.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Miami so fun is easy. If it’s a Monday I’d probably start out at Carbone for dinner then stop by Swan for a drink before we call it a night. I’d probably take them to a Heat Game that week and check out the Bacardi Lounge for dinner prior and the Hyde Lounge for drinks during half time. I’d likely take them to a hot pilates class at YO BK and a yummy lunch at Novela Cafe in Wynwood during the day. Maybe lay out at the beach or at my pool then have a little spa day in my building.
On the weekend we would probably get a group a friends together and go out for a boat day. Maybe stop at Joia Beach club to end the day. On Sunday I’d take them to Seaspice for basically everything they have on the menu. And if we could fit a karaoke night in there somewhere then that would be perfect.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would run to Barnes & Nobles and spend hours reading books that would stand out to me as I cruised the isles. It was always my safe space as I felt I was surrounded by others who simply understood.
The authors of all the self-help books I’ve read in the past 12 years have been my mentors. They have helped me find reason and the ability to process so many challenges I have encountered in life. They have helped me grow and expand into the beautiful life I have today. They have made me feel seen and understood when my environment was not supportive to my growth.
Those books have traveled with me cross country and state lines. They are my mentors, they are my friends and I aspire that they will one day be my colleagues.
