We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Raelyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julie, how do you think about risk?
They say that there is no reward without risk, and I do believe that’s true to an extent. Life is full of risks you just have to know which ones you’re willing to take and which ones will have the greatest payoff. In acting there’s many risks. Giving up that stable job life, moving away from my family, moving to a city where I didn’t know anyone, and just leaping into the unknown territory of this career were all risks that i have taken, and many actors take all the time. To me they have all been worth it because amazing things have happened in my life that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. And I think that’s true of many things in life- you can’t get to the next level or experience things outside the norm if you don’t take some risks.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of the short films I’ve accomplished with my team at Goldthunder Productions. Those haven’t always been easy but we’ve learned along the way and I have many finished products I can say I made that I am proud of. How I got to where I am was a lot of trust and faith that things would work out how they were supposed to. Friends and mentors along the way. Always being open to learning and trying to absorb every piece of new knowledge I picked up. That one’s important, never be afraid to learn something new or let someone teach you no matter what age or how much you think you already know.

Some things I want the world to know is that I’m more than what I seem. Everyone has different sides to their personality and abilities and I have felt in my life I have sometimes been judged by only one small portion of my personality. I also want the world to know that I, myself am ready as an actor, as well as myself as a producer along with my team at Goldthunder and I are ready to tackle anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmm some of my favorite spots. Well i love escape rooms so if they were into that I would take them to one of those. I have many that I like in LA, but maybe The Basement for more spooky fun or EscaperoomLA for less spooky and different themes. For food and drink well some of my favorite places are Aroma Caffe in Studio City, Ciao Christina in Burbank, Scum and Villainy Cantina in Hollywood (cuz I’m a big Star Wars nerd lol). Also probably some karaoke.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My team at Goldthunder Productions, my production company, with whom I produce a short film every year, my friends here in LA , because they’ve helped me be who and where I am today, my family and friends in general, teachers and coaches I’ve had along the way.
