We had the good fortune of connecting with Julyza Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julyza, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We have sent some beautiful paintings to children who had cancer, and our art helps bring healing and hope in a time of desperation. We love giving back to the community, and we have hosted and painted at low income schools for “family night”. Evenly we want to start a non-profit to help low income schools to have a budget for art. Because unfortunately, a lot of art is no longer given, because of a low budget.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets my business apart from any other art business is that a lot of people come to our classes and workshops and get healing and restoration like no other place. Yes painting is therapeutic, but what we offer and given to others is like no other. I’m most proud of our faith, in which pushed me and my mother forward in times of difficulty. We got to the place where we are today by grace and faith alone. It definitely was not easy! But we were able to find purpose through our pain, and now help others do the same. We surrounded ourselves with positive people and healthy relationships to overcome the challenges. Community is everything. Some lessons I learned was to stop complaining, and get out there and do something great with your life. Someone needs to hear your story! Push past your fears and you become unstoppable.

I want the world to know that through my pain, I found purpose. Through the abuse, I am able to be a light to those who need it the most.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to some museums, place where we can take plenty of selfies and amazing foods to try! I would definitely take her to see the Hollywood sign because that’s so historical.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother Dora. Not only is she the most supportive mother, but she also is my business partner and best friend. We both went through an abusive Narcissistic battle during a global pandemic. In fact, we were quarantined with a Narcissist. And together, we encouraged and strengthen each other during the most difficult times in our lives.
