Meet Jynafer Yanez | Book Publisher & Film Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jynafer Yanez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jynafer, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’m inspired by purpose, not just chasing results, but showing up every day with clarity on why I’m doing the work.
There was a time when I believed hustle was the whole game. That if I just worked harder, pushed more, I’d earn my place. But over time (and especially through mentorship with my coach, Dan Martell), I’ve learned that we’re meant to live out our purpose, not prove we deserve it. And when we take massive action from a place of gratitude for the gifts we’ve been given, we lead and serve in a way that creates real impact.
I’m also deeply inspired by the power of story. I believe stories can be light in the dark. They can bring hope, shift perspective, offer escape, or spark healing. Whether it’s through a book, a film, or a conversation, stories remind us we’re not alone… and sometimes, change someone’s life.
That’s what keeps me moving forward: the belief that what we create matters and that we’ve been called to steward those stories well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our art is storytelling – but not just on the page. We write fast-paced, heart-driven sci-fi and supernatural thrillers, but we also bring those worlds to life on film. What sets us apart is that we don’t just chase trends or try to fit into a mold. We’re indie by design, which means we can pivot quickly, take risks, and create stories that serve our audience, not a corporate agenda. It’s personal, nimble, and deeply connected.
I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve built something sustainable that still feels true to us. We’ve sold over a million books, produced award-winning films, and built a community of readers and creatives who feel like family. But what excites me most is that we’re still just getting started – every project feels like a new adventure.
Getting here wasn’t easy. There were seasons when sales dipped, when projects stalled, when things felt overwhelming. I’ve stood on a film set with 40 actors and extras where the head of makeup tested positive for Covid on day one. I’ve had to pivot on the fly, don the hat of HMU, and remind myself that every challenge is just a puzzle to solve. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that resilience, consistency, and faith carry you farther than hustle ever will.
What I want the world to know about our brand is this: we believe stories are light. They can shift your day, spark hope, or remind you that you’re not alone. Whether it’s a book, a film, or a conversation with our community, our mission is to create worlds of adventure, grit, and heart that leave people feeling fired up and full of hope. That’s why we do what we do – and that’s what I hope people carry with them after encountering our work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit LA for a week, we’d plan a mix of iconic stops, inspiring spaces, and a few quiet corners most people miss.
I’m drawn to the charm of old Hollywood and the layered beauty of historic LA architecture, so we’d start with something classic: a visit to the Hollywood Heritage Museum, maybe even a stroll through some of the lesser-known vintage theaters or neighborhoods that still carry that golden-era feel.
One of my favorite places to spend time is The Getty. We’d set aside a slow afternoon to explore the gardens and take in the views, but the real draw for me is the art. I’m especially a fan of the works by Degas, Monet, and Delacroix. There’s something about the light, the emotion, and the craft that always pulls me in.
For brunch, Bottega Louie is a must. It’s vibrant, full of energy, and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat. From there, we’d work it off with a hike to the Hollywood Sign or catch golden hour at Griffith Observatory. You can’t beat that view of the city stretching out beneath you, glowing as the sun dips down.
Midweek, we’d slow things down with a day trip to Laguna Beach. We’d snorkel the coves, read in the sun, and wrap the day with fries and a salad at The Montage Studio, overlooking the water. It’s simple and peaceful in the best way.
A few other stops would make the list:
– A morning walk through Larchmont Village (lavender latte in hand)
– Tacos + donuts from Grand Central Market (because both are non-negotiable)
– And browse through The Last Bookstore downtown
By the end of the week, we’d have full hearts, sandy shoes, and a camera roll full of memories, which is exactly how I like to travel.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really believe we’re all on a journey together; no one builds anything meaningful alone. Community and mentorship have been everything.
First, my husband and business partner, Jonathan. He’s the creative visionary, always ten steps ahead with the big idea. His relentless drive has pulled us forward into spaces we never imagined. We’ve built this business together from the ground up, and while we each have distinct roles, what’s made it work is that we genuinely believe in each other. That mutual trust has carried us through more than a few high-stakes leaps.
Early in my career, I had a mentor who taught me the power of strategy. How to approach every project, conversation, and opportunity with intentionality. She showed me how to always think with our end-user in mind. Being at a small agency gave me the space to wear a lot of hats, but it also taught me how to balance resourcefulness with excellence – a mindset I still carry into every room I enter today!
And then there’s our community of readers. They’ve bought the books, left the reviews, shown up at signings, and even helped fund our first film. That level of support is humbling. Add in the small but mighty crew of creative collaborators who’ve walked alongside us (on all levels of production and in our publishing company), and it’s clear: this journey is ours, not mine.
We’re building something bigger than any one project, and we wouldn’t be here without the people who’ve helped carry the vision forward.
