We had the good fortune of connecting with Kae Amar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kae, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The business started me before I started the business honestly. Modeling came as a true life career fulfillment type of thing for me I threw myself into an actual dream of mine instead of settling for a more typical career and next thing you know! When you stay true to your heart, abundance comes naturally because you living in that higher vibe, you living in your purpose and that brings the money flow, what gets the business booming you feel me !
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting to where I am today has been far from easy to say the least. I come from a small town in Wisconsin where things are slower paced and more settled. From the jump I’ve had a larger than life personality and it’s taken a lot of work too accept myself being a weirdo growing up seeing how it was hard for others too accept me as well. For years I was trying to prove to everyone else to see / believe the way I do and it does not work, it brings you back to the same place of needing to be your own biggest fan through and through. So here comes graduation and I’m overwhelmed because I do not have the same goal and aspirations as my peers with going too college or wanting too hop right into a 9-5…I know deep down modeling and being a creative is what I was meant to do but society has pushed us to believe our creative dreams are not sustainable. I go to a technical college, dropped out not for me. Next hair school, dropped out not for me. At that point I was just bull shitting myself I knew exactly what was up so I went and got a retail job and started modeling. I saved up and moved to LA almost 2 years later at the age of 19. LA has been a beast to say the least !! The trials and tribulations I’ve encountered out here have been hard being across the country alone, no car, no friends etc (the list goes on), just vibes and my dog and cat lmao. I view everything good and bad all as lessons, divine pivot point lessons that have allowed me to become and grow into the woman I am today. A successful a creative young BLACK business woman through and through I am living out my dreams and I am so grateful to be able to do so as this is just the beginning of whats too really come from me. I have worked very hard on my self love and confidence so that I am able to share with the world and be vulnerable with my art. Music , dancing , and acting are all In the works. I want to put it all together and be able too just live out / in whatever expressions I am feeling as we are forever changing and evolving hoping that my authenticity can wake up a light inside you when you come across my art 🙂
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my boo’s come into town I like too take them to the beach ofccc! my friends are nature gals we enjoy hiking and just being outside as a lot of them have dogs too haha. Honestly my friends and I aren’t too much into touristy things like we can go out too eat go dancing cool whatever orrr instead we be so deep that most of the time when they come its like a needed thing like a reunion and we end up crying in the house together or sitting on some piece of grass outside just soaking in the sun going on rants. Nothing like good weather and just sitting outside in LA
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my mom and dad for doing the damn thing !
