We had the good fortune of connecting with Kailyn Andrews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kailyn, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I never really had any risks in any of my acting or modeling jobs. But there was a time where I was being considered for a photo double for Stranger Things season 4. And one of the requirements was that I had to shave my head. I said no and backed out of the role.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well.. how I’ve gotten started was a little crazy! So it all started when I was around 6, I’ve started doing plays for school. From 2012-2015, I’ve done plays and theater related stuff. In December 2018, I started acting for film and tv, I even started modeling for commercials. In March 2020, I’ve gotten my first Influencer job on Instagram! In August 2021, I was cast as a supporting in the upcoming feature film, The Lost based on the book by Joe Moya. And was also cast as a supporting in a short film called History Be Happening in NYC. In the same month, I was featured in my first ever magazine which would be my first magazine publication. The lessons I’ve learned is to LOVE yourself for who am I!
And I want the world to know that I’m a really good person and not a bad person because I used to get bullied in all my middle school years and most of my freshman year where I ended up transferring to another school where I’m finally happy and I get to be who I was meant to be. And yes, it was really hard getting where I am today, I always gotten rejected for representation at agencies and for jobs. I really was thinking about quoting all of it, but I got the courage to keep going. And now, I’m forever grateful for everything!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t have a Best friend but I do have friends and we would eat whatever we wanted, drunk whatever we wanted, and we would hang out in Italy! For interesting and exciting people, I would love to go to another country to learn the culture and to speak that language! I would love to go to Italy, Australia, and London. I would love to check out the castle in London and the Big Ben in London as well!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give credit to my parents, grandparents, my family, and my talent agents for all the support y’all have given me for my entire journey!
