We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla G. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe risk-taking is part of trusting your intuition and being confident that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. It also takes discipline and perseverance. Throughout my life and career, taking risks have definitely taught me valuable lessons and have put me in great positions to help me grow as an artist, there were periods where I felt really uncertain about going forward with pursuing a creative career but I always remind myself to stay consistent and trust the process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Fashion, Lifestyle and Portrait photographer from South Central LA. My work focuses on highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of my fellow creatives and individuals in my city. I’m most definitely excited to continue working and to see where this journey takes me. What sets me apart from others is that the images I create have an impacted my supporters in many way and have even inspired some to begin creating as well, and that is one of my most proudest experiences with receiving love and appreciate for my work. I’m am still not where I want to be professionally and I am fully aware that growth is continual, I’ll keep putting forth the effort and I know I’ll for sure get there.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

There’s so many cool spots to check out in the area but I would recommend going to: Harun Coffee, South LA Cafe, Neighbor’s Skate Shop and any of the events going on in Leimert Park if you enjoy art good vibes and music.
