We had the good fortune of connecting with Kedrick Pasley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kedrick, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
As cliche as it sounds, just simply being me helped me succeed. Instead of looking at the person next to me as competition, I use it as inspiration and motivation to help me grow. Knowing that what’s for me is for me and waiting my turn.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d like to think I was born to be an entertainer and here’s why. When my mom was pregnant with me, her stomach would start moving around when music would play. And as soon as the music stopped, so did her stomach.

Shortly after having me, we went to a lot of my parents’ friend’s weddings and I was always the first on the dance floor getting the party started and leading the line dances. Took my first dance class at 3, and by 7, I was a competitive dancer and immediately knew that I wanted to make dance a career.

After graduating from my alma mater, SC State University, I saw that Disneyland and Disney World were having auditions. I ended up getting a job Disney World and since moving Orlando, my career has surpassed my expectations.

I’d say I specialize in theatrical and commercial dancing. Although I’m proud of the things I’ve done with the Walt Disney Word company, I’m most proud of the opportunities that I’ve gotten outside of Disney. And that’s because I didn’t think it was even possible to do half of the things I’ve done here and it’s allowed me to grow and push myself and for that, I’m very grateful. I believe my work ethic sets me apart from others. I have a hard time staying still for long periods of time and always looking for the next best thing that can help me evolve.

I’m excited for the future and what it holds! I feel like I’m still just getting started and that right there has me hungry for more. There’s so much more I’d like to do in this industry and I can’t wait to experience my dreams coming true!

Has it been easy? Absolutely not. But I can say it’s been worth the wait or struggle. I’ve realized that there’s always something to learn from in any obstacle thrown your way. The more patient and focused I was on me is when opportunities came at me when I least expected it and that’s the biggest reward because there’s room for everyone to win and be great!

What I want the world to know about me is that if you think it’s impossible, it’s possible. I’m still learning to embrace it myself everyday but I want to share that because we all can do it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re coming to Orlando, you didn’t do vacation right if you didn’t do anything theme park or water related.

I tend to tell people when they visit it’s best to do half touristy things and half local things. Of course you have visit at least one of the parks. International Drive (I Drive) is the perfect area for tourists. There’s attractions, food, drinks and shopping all right there. Downtown Orlando is perfect for the local vibes. It also has everything and more. West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (192) is the perfect blend of tourist and local vibes.

There’s always something to do or something going on in Orlando!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d have to say always that my parents get the the most credit. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this. Next is my dance mom, Buffi Wade, director of Just Dance in Charleston, SC, for taking me in as her son from another one and making me the dancer I am today. Ashlee Ratigan, opened my eyes to working at Disney World in high school, which jumpstarted my professional career. They’re all so appreciate more than they know. And God gets all of the credit for blessing me with this gift that I’m able to share with the world.
