We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Von Schleis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, what do you attribute your success to?
Dedication and sacrifice. No one’s success is easily earned. I’m no exception. For ten + years I’ve worked a 60+ hour day job that allowed me to afford my luxe lifestyle. I eventually made it to the top of my sector as an IT Healthcare Programmer and Project Manager, but it has been mentally draining and spiritually unfulfilling. I wanted more out of my one life. At night, after work was complete, I dreamed about a career in health and fitness – my passion. I decided to go for it and began designing bespoke workout programs for my innovative body transformation app LUXEFit. A fire was lit inside me, and I dedicated any spare moments I could find to realizing it — in between meetings, during lunch, in an uber. Sacrificing the present for the future is a key element to my success. I enjoy socializing with friends, but to make the future I wanted, I stopped indulging the fleeting needs of my present self for the payoff of my tomorrow self. On weekends, I trained and studied to become an Elite Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach. I reinvested earnings into building out my app LUXEFit and growing my health and fitness brand. I’ll soon be releasing fitness and athleisure products line under my LUXEFit branding.

What should our readers know about your business?
I think what sets me apart is my willingness to not limit myself by staying in one lane, as you can see from my list of career titles. I’m proud to be a female entrepreneur owning and operating multiple independent business ventures. In addition to being the founder and CEO of my health-fitness brand LUXEFit, I work full-time as a Healthcare IT Consultant and Project Manager. I also work as a freelance consultant sourcing products and managing logistics for large government contracts to procure health and safety products. I conduct executive level engagement with the Fortune 500 companies: manage their strategic operations and supply chains, establish partnerships with manufacturers, secure international procurements and serve as corporate liaison. I’ve also had my health-conscious recipes and bespoke workout programs featured on several fitness platforms including Strong and Oxygen magazine. What got me to where I am today is also what excites me – having faith in myself to know I’m capable enough to pursue new opportunities. My journey came with many struggles. I questioned myself, wondering if I was pursuing the right path. I changed my course many times and put time into projects or opportunities that didn’t develop. I still work nearly every night till past 1AM to achieve my goals. What I’d want people to take away from my story is that the battle with yourself is hardest one to face because it’s a constant. But that’s the mechanism we all have inside us that forces us either to quit or work harder. Only one of those choices will lead to the actualization of your dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What’s great about Southern California are all the opportunities to be active outside and I love to take advantage of anything with ocean views. My bestie and I would hike Solstice Canyon Malibu to the summit and take in the gorgeous panoramic view of the ocean. We’d grab a healthy lunch at Geoffreys to continue enjoying the magnificent views of the Pacific coastline before settling in for the night at the Malibu Beach Inn. In the morning we’d head over to Rafi Lounge to their outdoor wellness sanctuary where we’d sneak in a sunrise spin workout followed by a Body Sculpt class with Brooke Burke. Then I’d catch up on my emails on their luxurious rooftop overlooking the most famous Malibu surf point. We’d cap the trip off in sexy dresses for some fine dining at Mastros to enjoy their live piano music indoors before enjoying dinner outside listening to the waves crash against the rocks below as the sun sets on the horizon. If there’s time for another day in Malibu, we’d check out the Malibu wine safari and the world class sushi at Nobu.

Since I live on the marina in Marina del Ray, we’d stay local one day and take a short walk to Brizo to enjoy a nice seafood tower while overlooking the beautiful, luxurious yachts on the marina. We’d also spend a day taking a beautiful bike ride to the Strand House in Manhattan beach for a bite to eat after finding a quiet spot to lounge on the beach.

Then we’d head for a luxurious weekend trip to Montage Laguna Beach for a beachfront spa getaway perched on a costal bluff above the Pacific where we’d indulge in spa treatments in their 20,000 sq ft spa followed by champagne toasts poolside. What a hidden gem.

Los Angeles is a sprawling city with so much to offer. I’m guessing my friend would probably not want to leave. She can stay 😉
