We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenisha Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenisha, what matters most to you?
Courage . Courage is defined as mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. This definition speaks volumes , because that’s what courage is all about ,
stepping outside of your comfort zone. If you have no fear, you don’t need courage, but when something you know you have to do makes you feel sick inside, courage is what makes you do that thing anyway.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My 9-5 is working as a county employee for the health department. When I am not working or shipping orders I am also a full time student at CSUDH. My ultimate career goal is to become a social worker , this is because of my experience of being in foster care. I didn’t have the best experience with “knowledgeable” social workers so with my experience being in the foster care system I would like to be a role model or inspiration to those are growing up in the system. How I got to where I am today is definitely being resilient, having dedication and setting goals. It was never easy to get to where I am today I faced challenges of low self esteem , failure and disappointment. Through all of that I learned to stay positive, learn that things fall apart before they come together ,believing in myself & NEVER giving up. I’d like the world to know that the situation I was born into does not make me another “statistic” or damage goods but it has shaped and molded me into the amazing person I am today.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit the area I would first take them to get some grub and drinks ! The best place for both to enjoy is “Islands”. Some places I would take them to visit is the Hollywood Wax museum or The illusion museum.
Some interesting places to check out would be any amusement park : raging waters , Knotts Berry Farm , Six Flags , Santa Monica Pier , Venice Beach , Bowling & Angeleno for wine tasting
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out my amazing husband who has been so supportive of my business from the very beginning. If there’s anyone who believes in the success of my business it’s him! It’s an incredible feeling when he comes home and ask me to pack orders for people from his job who are interested in using my products. Talk about that in person promoting!
