Meet Kevin Walker | Actor, Model, Writer, and Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
1. How do you think about risk?

I think risks are necessary in order to achieve your biggest goals in life; without risk, I would probably still be in North Carolina wishing about my dreams instead of living them.

2. What role has taking risks played in your life/career?

There is risk with every decision you make rather that be positive or negative. Deciding to walk onto a D1 football program instead of excepting offers from other lower ranked schools was something I thought was going to work in my favor but instead the unfortunate part of the risk was that I did not make the team. However, the positive result was me continuing my passion for acting which has led me out to Los Angeles, CA to pursue my dream in the entertaining industry. One of my biggest risk was packing up my car and driving across country to California without having a place to stay, it was just a dream and determination.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
1. What sets you apart from others and what are you most proud about? I think what sets me apart from others is that No is not an option. I am most proud of myself for being able to trust, prepare, and mold myself to become the artist I can and will be.

2. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges.
No, the process is not easy but with every hurdle I overcome, I learn and grow, there will always be room for progress. If a task once begun, never leave it until it’s done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all!

3. What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to not put your faith in another person’s hands, no one will do more for you than yourself. Another lesson, I learned is that No’s are not always negative, they are saving you for the right opportunities for a Yes to happen. Lastly, being a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity INC is to achieve in every field of human endeavor!

4. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want the world to know that I strive for greatness and will out the work necessary to obtain all the wish to achieve in life. Additionally, I would like the world to know Kevin Martrell Walker is a role model, an example of never giving up and a man of faith.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city are:

Brunch – Castaway in Burbank

Attractions – Hollywood Blvd., Griffith Observatory, Rodeo Dr., Chocolate Sundaes, and Beach Bonfire

Beach – Santa Monica Pier and Malibu

Happy Hour – Prank Bar

Dinner – Yamashiro

BIG SHOUTOUT TO My mom and family without their constant encouragement, southern values, and love, this journey would have been a lot more difficult to pursue.

SHOUTOUT to my fiance and her family for always motivating me and celebrating the wins no matter if they were big or small. I appreciate their continued support and love. My family away from home!!!
