We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny To and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
My family makes me happy because they are always there to support me. They are wiping my tears during my darkest moments, and also celebrating and cheering me on through my successes. To me, my family includes both blood related family members, my boyfriend, and my close friends. Family means anyone who has been there for me in my life and continues to motivate me and always check up on me. My parents have given me the ability to follow my dreams and support me no matter what. My boyfriend is always there to look out for me, and make sure I am happy. My best friends always keep me grounded, and give me someone to talk to when I feel alone. Cars and modeling also make me happy because they are two of my greatest passions. Both cars and modeling have allowed me to express myself in a way that words cannot. They have also allowed me to meet such amazing people in my life, and gain opportunities that I am extremely grateful for. There is not a day goes by that I do not think about my friends, family, or cars, because they are essential to my life. I simply cannot imagine a life without these things.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Cars and modeling are two things I consider to be my form of art. I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT which is my project car, and a 2005 Lexus IS300. I think what sets me apart from others in both the car and modeling scene is that I do it because I am extremely passionate about both, and I am true to myself. The car scene always appears to be a competition nowadays, but I continue to drive and work on my Celica because I believe that cars do not need to have a lot done to them to be appreciated. As a model, I got into it more so to learn about the owners of the cars I model with, as well as the photographers. It was never about gaining followers or likes, just a way for me to spark new connections with others. I would say I am still new to both the car and modeling scene, but it was definitely a bit of a challenge to get to where I am today. It takes confidence, time, and a good personality to be able to work with genuine people. I learned that the most important aspect for both cars and modeling is not appearance, but who you are on the inside. I want the world to know that I am in love with cars, and that every picture of a car I am modeling with is not just a photo, but tells a story. My goal is to encourage others to have this same passion for cars, and not let social media alter the true reality of how kind and welcoming the car community can be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would take them to Aikan Sushi & Ramen for my absolute favorite sushi. Afterwards, I’d take them to 7leaves to get boba as a dessert before we start to explore! I love exploring Downtown Los Angeles because it is so lively, and there are so many photo opportunities. I would also suggest to go to Newport Beach towards sunset because it is gorgeous, and the beach is super relaxing. Then, we could grab a snack and some green thai tea at Seaside Donuts Bakery before heading back home. Perhaps if it wasn’t too late and there was a car meet going on, I would stop by to check it out! Car meets definitely have the most interesting vendors, people, and cars. I would also suggest for them to try going to a car show in the future, and we could visit more fun places to explore and take pictures at such as Angeles Crest Highway.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my best friend, Janet. I have known her since middle school, and she is the closest thing I will ever have to a sister. She has seen every side of me and loved me for who I am. I am forever grateful for her undivided support and care. She never fails to make me laugh, and is my number one fan. I also want to give a shoutout to my boyfriend, Benson, for always showering me with love and confidence. If it were not for him always encouraging me to take pictures and just have fun, I would not be as active in the car and modeling scene as I am now. He never fails to go with me to car events, or just to go get boba. He continues to encourage me to keep on growing, and believes in me at times when I do not believe in myself.
