Meet Dr. Kian Karimi MD, FACS | Nasal & Facial Plastic Surgeon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Kian Karimi MD, FACS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Kian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
With the increasing availability and accessibility of aesthetic treatments, I sought to create a center of excellence that would offer state-of-the-art treatments tailored to each individual patient in a relaxed, clean, and friendly environment backed by a facial plastic surgeon and by elite aesthetic providers delivering the treatments. This vision and mission created one of the most successful and sought-after medical aesthetic centers in Los Angeles with over 10,000 clients served over the last seven years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have had the great privilege to have had incredible mentors throughout my professional career. I had an amazing experience during my otolaryngology-head & neck surgery residency at the University of Florida which gave me the skills and confidence to continue my training and education in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. I decided to come to Los Angeles, California, one of the most competitive markets in the world, because I knew that I could offer the best of the best in an ethical and honest way that would be refreshing in a field that was increasingly clouded with misinformation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would first take my friend for a sunrise workout from the top of the Temescal hiking trail – after that we would get some protein smoothies from Juicy Ladies – after that we would get our morning caffeine fix from Alfred’s Coffee in the Pacific Palisades Village. I would then show my friends around the area and get some tacos from Que Padre. We would then walk off lunch with a light bike ride on the boardwalk of Santa Monica and Venice. Following this we would get cleaned up for a nice evening at Nobu Malibu for a delicious sushi meal with a view of the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my life mentor Dr. Peter Adamson based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. During the year I spent with him for my fellowship I learned the value of never cutting corners, always being ethical, and putting the client first. These values served me well in my surgical practice and eventually were translated into my medical aesthetic center, Rejuva Medical Aesthetics. I want to shoutout Sherry Leigh, our practice administrator, who came to me in 2016 with over 20 years experience in the medical aesthetics field. She shared my vision and values and helped us build our center of excellence from the ground up.
