We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kira, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I allow myself to go through the thought process of giving up so that when I come back to my senses and start again, I’ll have a clearer head on what I want out of my life/career. There is nothing wrong with having doubts and fears about the unknown of starting a business and building a brand. I personally use that same momentum for a better come back strategy. Refocus, Reframe, and Redefine as many times as you need to. Success is subjective so I always only strive to keep bettering myself and that gives me the strength to keep going at my own pace.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have modeled in two fashion shows and met some great creatives in the modeling/entertainment industry. I just love the fashion. I wouldn’t say I am in the professional model category yet but I am taking my craft a lot more serious. I’ve taken some acting classes and I’ve had runway training with Ms. Rio Summers. Overall I had a lot of fun learning from so many professionals! You can’t crumble at the first “no” and stand in your uniqueness are two lessons I learned early on. It definitely makes it easier to go into more auditions with more confidence because the time will come when it’s your turn.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Westside is the best side as they say in Los Angeles! I prefer all the beaches, Malibu beach being my favorite, and the surroundings restaurants. My favorite places to hang out always involves sand and the ocean. Marina Del Ray is a hidden gem I always just love for the quaint, quiet scenery. There’s a cool amphitheater area where the city puts on a Movie Cinema event throughout the summer. You can also take a nice canoe out on the Venice canals then go for drink at the corner bar.
I’d squeeze in some time for hiking too because of the great views! Hiking and yoga is a great adventure for a trip.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The book titled The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz changed my life. My mindset completely shifted to success and from then on, I vowed I’d always attract it as long as I keep that thought in the front of my mind. I was in the audience of The Steve Harvey Show where Steve suggested to us that we read this book if we want to be successful and it was perfect timing because I needed an extra push in motivation.
