We had the good fortune of connecting with Konstantinos Pateronis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Konstantinos, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The main reason for pursuing an artistic career, such as becoming a filmmaker, was because I really wanted to be able to express myself freely and create new worlds and stories.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a film director and screenwriter best-known for my award-winning films “All or Nothing” and “Fatal Perfection”, which are distributed on hyvio.com. I take pride in my craft as I put endless hours of hard work and collaboration with other talented filmmakers to deliver worth-watching films. Though today I am professionally successful, there had been challenges and obstacles along the way, which I wouldn’t have overcome without hard work and support from those who believe in me.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
First of all, I would start with my most favorite area of Los Angeles, Venice Beach. It was there that the words of the beatniks were fully grasped by the young people in the 60’s and gave birth to the Hippie phenomenon! It was there that “The Doors” first rehearsed their songs and their magnificent, brilliant poetry. Venice Beach has always been a paradise for artists and a place of inspiration. The next destination would be Laurel Canyon, the “holy place” for all the big names of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, where people such as Frank Sinatra and Jim Morrison were residing. Another place of equal importance is the “Whiskey a Go-Go” on Sunset Boulevard; a must-see, for a big number of all the great musicians of Los Angeles started their careers and gave memorable performances!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is no doubt that behind one’s success there is support from those that believe in him/her and a lot of hard work. My story in no different, as I have been having a lot of support from my family and friends to pursue my dreams. This led into a lust for hard work in order to succeed, but this wouldn’t have been possible without acquiring knowledge on my field, which was passed on to me by my mentor in film school, Bruce Macwilliams! I am really grateful for his support and for showing me the way to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a film director.
