Meet Kotta

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kotta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kotta, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me success cannot be truly defined until it is realized, or felt. It’s when all the things you thought you were struggling against finally make sense as part of the puzzle. I believe we all achieve success in our own way. One day I hope to understand it better, but there is so much I am still learning.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t worry to much about if something is hard or easy, life seems to be full of both on a continuum. I’ve learned so many technical things and forgotten so many too, but the real lessons I have to learn I’m still learning so I’ll let you know if I ever have a bigger answer, but I have a feeling any one reading this will probably know just as much about the bigger picture as me, if not more. Each song I work on is a different exploration or feeling. I don’t want to tell the world anything. I’m feeling it along with you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Go to Griffith park, get lost in there, it’s endless. Ok, don’t get lost, because I’m sure you actually can, but explore. Go to the skate park in Venice for sunset. Great taco stands everywhere in the city, or Moa’s kitchen in Venice is a cool spot. And then hit up Hotel Cafe for some live music later in the evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father, my mother, and my sister. It’s difficult to put into words, because I could never thank them enough for the love and kindness that they have showed me. They are all so different in there personalities, but they are all apart of who I am.
