Meet Kris Crews

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Kris Crews again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Kris, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
My name is Kris Crews, and I’m a writer originally from Columbus, OH, now based in Los Angeles, CA. I am the author of You Owe It to Yourself (2021), a self-reflection journal filled with quotes, prompts, and space for personal processing. Designed to support those on a journey of self-discovery, the journal encourages healing, self-awareness, and prioritizing mental well-being—reminding readers they are never alone in their growth.
My second book, Through the Ebbs and Flows, will be released in April 2025. This intimate collection of reflections and affirmations explores resilience, self-discovery, and the lessons found in life’s challenges and triumphs. Having personally wrestled with belonging, self-worth, and anxiety, I’ve found solace in unexpected moments—kind words from friends, lyrics from songs, and fleeting connections with strangers. These experiences have shown me that even in life’s complexities, beauty and wisdom are always within reach.
Through the Ebbs and Flows is a heartfelt invitation to embrace every part of ourselves. With sections on healing, community, encouragement, and love, this book offers insight “For Me, For You, and For Us.” My hope is that it serves as a gentle reminder that growth is an ongoing journey—one best traveled with compassion and openness, no matter the season or circumstance.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since we last spoke, life has been full of experiences—the good, the challenging, and everything in between. I’ve traveled to incredible places, including Spain, Portugal, France, Jamaica, and Italy, immersing myself in different cultures and perspectives. Along the way, I’ve formed new friendships and deepened connections with people who have been in my life for years.
I’ve witnessed friends and family fall in love, get married, and start families, while also navigating my own personal growth. I’ve taken on new professional challenges, pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, and discovered both the beautiful and vulnerable parts of myself—the parts that need love, patience, and grace. As an advocate for mental health, I’ve faced my own struggles, whether through personal hardships, world events, or the natural transitions of adulthood. But every challenge has shaped me, helping me move forward with more self-compassion and less shame.
Through it all, these experiences have inspired my latest work. Through the Ebbs and Flows is a reflection of this journey—a reminder to embrace every season of life with resilience and grace. It’s a piece of my heart, shaped by the lessons I’ve learned, and I hope it encourages others to keep moving forward, no matter where they are in their own story.
