Meet Krystal Gonzalez | Personal Trainer & Lifestyle Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystal Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krystal, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I was younger, I knew I wanted to be rich and my own boss. I wasn’t sure when it would happen or how it would happen, I just knew. However, now that I am older, being “rich” means something a little different, and being my own boss holds a much heavier weight with more responsibility. Starting my own business has made me rich in experiences, relationships, and time. Even though I am extremely busy, it’s a type of busy I wouldn’t give up for anything. Money is now a bonus that when I was younger I thought was everything.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The impact on people’s lives is the most rewarding part of my job. I have 2 women who have been with me since the beginning, and they have lost 30 and 40 lbs each. Not only have I helped them physically, but also mentally and emotionally. They tell me about their wins, how they’re gaining their confidence back. That to me is everything! This journey has not been easy. I left a stable accounting job to bet on myself and help people become the best version of them. It was the scariest thing I have ever done, but the most rewarding. My dream is to have my own training facility one day where people of all shapes, sizes, experience levels, and journeys are welcome. It’s going to happen and I can’t wait.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man! This is the hardest question yet. SoCal is filled with amazing spots, but if my bestie came down to visit we would start with a Matcha latte from Soulmate. Hands down the best matcha I’ve ever tried. We would go to the farmers market at the park of off Cherry Ave, (across from yoga on the bluff) in Long Beach to get fresh fruit and some lunch from the vendors. We would of course get a good workout in! My go to gym right now is Uniq HQ in Paramount, a small boutique gym that has everything you need for a killer leg day. We would eventually visit DTLA and I would take her to Olvera Street, Cielito Lindo to be exact. They have the best taquitos in green salsa ever. I grew up going to that place, so it holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my partner, family and friends. Without your support, I would have never had the courage to follow my dreams.
