We had the good fortune of connecting with Lacienega Boulevardéz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaCienega, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
For me, pursuing an artistic career has always been a dream! Growing up in the 90’s, I would always watch my favorite entertainers perform to sold out crowds in concerts, tv specials, etc. These artists gained such respect and popularity by staying true to themselves and pursuing their dream. I knew I wanted to have a “stage” to do the same within my community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started doing drag 14 years ago on Halloween for fun! Or maybe it was the catalyst to open myself up and put myself out there to do something I love. Ive always been a performer whether it was Cheerleading, Acting, Dancing growing up so that was the base of my creativity as a Drag Queen. Im a performer at heart, I love to dance, express myself through my lipsyncs and look HOT doing it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I would definitely start off with Beaches Weho which is were I host my Drag brunches. They are THE spot to be most days of the week where you can see drag,isten to Hip Hop, enjoy happy hour. All of us promoters are like family so its one big party.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Id like to shoutout my Mom. This woman, who raised me as a single mother alongside my grandparents, has been nothing but supported of my journey in life as well as my art. Shes my #1 fan and I dedicate all of my success to her!
