We had the good fortune of connecting with Lamar Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lamar, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
This question hits home for currently, because trying to maintain life & working on my career is tough for the mental because you have to still make a good amount of time for your loved ones. As a musician I tend to work everyday rather its writing, recording, performing, creating content or traveling. And that time randomly it isn’t a set schedule so it can be tough.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, I used to write raps and freestyle with close friends back in high school and college but was to afraid to show it because I felt that people will judge me because of my disability. But my passion for music was always there. So i became more confident as time went on an begin to tell my story through music.

It wasn’t easy but it was worth every single challenge that I’ve encountered music is my outlet to find peace and understanding on my life and I’ve inspired many of people from kids to adults.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well considering that I do music it’ll start with that. Food is a must from hibachi to simple chicken for hooks. OTR has a great night scene that we could attend as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Its simple my Team BTB Records, The disabled community. #Family
