We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Randolph and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced so many moments where I’ve wanted to give it all up. The daily grind can feel like I’m stuck in my own groundhog day. I find the feeling of wanting to give up even more intense when you’re working on your own business. There have been months and days that I’ve neglected the business that I worked so hard to build because I was burnt out. And then there came a turning point. For me that turning point was discovering that I needed a business partner. I’ve always been an athlete and team sports were always my favorite ones, so why not apply the same to my business. I’ve always been passionate about The Wedding Course and believed in our goals to help couples plan their dream weddings, but I knew I needed a fresh perspective to truly help us continue to grow. That’s when Margot joined The Wedding Course.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
With The Wedding Course, we strive to help couples overcome the stress of planning their wedding. This is one of the biggest events in their lives and they deserve to be a guest and enjoy. I am so proud that joining forces with Margot Hummel has created a new, improved and ultimate Wedding Course Curriculum. We’ve been working hard the past few months to update, create and make an amazing educational tool for engaged couples.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Because we love all things weddings, here’s a tour of some of our favorite wedding venues. And who knows, maybe the day you go someone will be having a fabulous wedding and you can get some inspiration: -Polo Lounge at Beverly Hills Hotel (McCarthy Salad is their famous salad and has been on the menu for years. Delicious!) -Vinoteca at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills for a coffee. A true celeb hot spot for junkets, awards shows etc, sip on a latte while people watching and you’ll never be bored. -Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. Margot planned a fabulous wedding there years ago and still remembers how amazing the food was! It’s right on the beach and the best place to watch the sunset. -The Raymond in Pasadena. As an LA eastsider, I have to include one of my favorite places for brunch. They have a beautiful outdoor patio, amazing food and one of the best bars and drink menus in the city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Margot Hummel is my business partner, partner in crime and a true friend. She has helped to re-inspire my passion for educating engaged couples. Now we can work together to both share our combined 30 years of knowledge and perspective to create an even better product for engaged couples.
