We had the good fortune of connecting with Laurie Moulton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laurie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Trusting in my vision as it perpetually develops and as the businesses evolve, remains core to my individual success as an entrepreneur. I find that the combination of staying true to my original purpose while at the same time being open to the new strategies needed to get us there, allows me to develop a path that continues to align with our current needs. Viewing our collective of businesses as both a whole, as well as distinct and separate businesses, ensures that we can execute on the overall brand vision of the collective which is where we have found the most success.

Just as important, if not more important, is building an incredible team that believes and trusts that vision and can deliver on that vision in a way that not only aligns with the brand but pushes me to expand my thinking, advance and hone my vision. I am incredibly thankful to have such an amazing, insightful and gritty team leading the way toward our success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have created a family-owned collective of businesses that transcend through all facets of home, design, and living. Created to evoke emotion, be a catalyst for inspiration, and provide a sense of comfort with their organically elevated collections, Lolo Interiors is the underpinning of the collective. At Lolo Interiors, we craft one-of-a-kind living spaces tailored to each client, ensuring that no design is ever repeated, which keeps our clients’ homes feeling personal and authentic to their living, while keeping us pushing our own creative boundaries. Lux Box Agency is a luxury boutique real estate agency bringing together our expertise in real estate, hospitality, and design to offer beautifully curated vacation rentals, a luxury concierge buying and selling experience, and delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests and clients. House of Lolo is our clothing store, which fosters a sense of community through its carefully curated boutique collections for women, men, and baby, offering a personalized and unique shopping experience that resonates with like-minded individuals. Together, these businesses create our family collective, a source of expert knowledge, inspired design, and curated living.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For the perfect stay in the desert, we would of course want them waking up somewhere beautiful and peaceful. I would have them stay at our private 1940’s Historical Casa Casitas vacation rental property, located in La Quinta Cove, complete with a gated entry, two private casitas, a pool, and breathtaking mountain views. Walking distance to all the incredible La Quinta Cove hiking trails, we could take morning hikes taking in the beautiful views, sunshine and fresh air. I would take them to my favorite spot for brunch, The Pink Cabana in Indian Wells. Followed by a stroll around El Paseo to swing by our shops, House of Lolo and Lolo Interiors for a peek at our newest collections of clothing and home. A bike ride to Old Town La Quinta to the farmers market for fresh fruit and veggies would definitely be on the agenda for the weekend. For dinners, we would visit one of our favorites, Workshop Kitchen & Bar, Sandfish Sushi or Bar Cecil in Palm Springs. To make their week really special, I would make sure they had a full day of golf at Indian Wells Golf Resort, a scenic drive going up Hwy 74 for a day trip to Temecula for wine tasting and lunch at Bottaia Winery. This feels like the perfect desert getaway to me!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our journey in creating a family collective of businesses would not be possible without my husband, Chris Fischer, who is my business partner, best friend and love of my life. Chris is not only an incredibly creative and talented human, he is a craftsman, the chef for our family, he is my biggest fan and the bond that holds it all together. He is building and refining our family collective of businesses right alongside me, every day. Chris is responsible for leading real estate sales & rentals for Lux Box Agency and directing operations and logistics across the collective of businesses, all while also being my interior design partner, craftsman and builder for Lolo Interiors. Our partnership in everything that we do allows me to focus on high level strategy and overall vision, design for our projects, and creative direction for the family collective of brands.
