We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Wade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tasha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is authenticity. I came into the photography industry vowing to always stick to my guns and stay true to myself, not compromising my morals , and I believe my brand embodies that. I value inclusivity and showcasing all types of love. As a boudoir photographer my main goal is to always prioritize making women feel empowered. As for my couples, showcasing their true authentic selves. Posing isn’t really my thing, I prefer prompts for the raw authentic emotion.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I picked up a camera two years ago intending to only use it to document my travels. I found a love for photographing people, and freezing those special moments in time , it has been a hard road but I feel like I’ve finally found my footing. I want people to know my brand is about inclusivity, all are welcome here, love is love and everyone deserves to have their love on display. Some lessons I’ve learned is a following doesn’t define a person, a lot of people in the photography industry, big name photographers aren’t who they say they are, their image on social media, is a facade. Being authentic goes a long way,
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Culver City for sure!! So many amazing restaurants!!! I would highly recommend people also check out Monty’s burgers it’s a plant based burger joint that is amazing !
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and business partner, and some of the amazing friends I’ve met in this industry. My husband has kept me from quitting so many times, this field is a roller coaster of emotions, feelings of importer syndrome and finding where you belong. I would credit my beginnings to a dear friend of mine who encouraged me to actually launch my brand: @alexandracphoto. Alex is the most amazing mentor, she helped me learn the ropes and prepare my business for my move to LA, I owe her so much. Jocelyn of @jocelynmariephotos has been my biggest cheerleader and hype woman, she’s showed me what it means to be fearless in this industry and stand up for what I believe in. Last but certainly not least is Laura @lauraleephotography. I connected with her at a workshop and she has seen me through some pretty tough days. I’ve leaned on her through some pretty tough times, and she’s shown me that their is people who genuinely want to see you success.
