We had the good fortune of connecting with Leon Macapagal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leon, do you have a budget? how do you think about personal finances?
Definitely. Having a budget has been a total game-changer for me. I used to be kinda bad with money, but I’ve learned my lesson. Now, I split my monthly expenses into different categories like fixed, flexible, discretionary, investments, and savings. It helps me keep track of where my money’s going and stay on top of my spending. Plus, I’m not just living in the moment – I’m saving for the future too. I’ve got a specific percentage I set aside for investments and retirement savings each month, and I make it a priority to stick to it. It feels good knowing I’m taking care of my current and future financial needs at the same time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Absolutely! As a multidisciplinary photographer and videographer, I take pride in my ability to adapt to the unique requirements of each project. My style is characterized by versatility and flexibility, allowing me to seamlessly transition between various genres such as lifestyle, fashion, and portrait photography. I believe that what sets me apart from others is my ability to tailor my shooting technique, location and lighting choices, and photo editing methods to match the specific needs of each project. By doing so, I am able to deliver high-quality, custom-made work that truly stands out.

I take great pride in my ongoing creative evolution and the work that I continue to produce. For me, the journey is never-ending, and I’m constantly learning new skills and techniques to incorporate into my work. Professionally, I’m not yet where I want to be, and I know there are many challenges that lie ahead. However, I firmly believe that consistency is the key to success. Consistently working hard and honing your craft is what truly matters in this industry.

Talent can only take you so far, but with hard work and determination, you can achieve anything. I want the world to know that they haven’t seen the best of me yet! There are so many ideas brewing in my mind, and so much more work I’m eager to create. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me, and I can’t wait to share my vision with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting LA for a week, I would make sure they have an amazing time. We would start by visiting some of the classic tourist spots, such as the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, and the Griffith Observatory.

For food, we would have to try some of LA’s iconic foodie spots, like Grand Central Market, In-N-Out Burger, Korean BBQ in K-Town, and my personal favorite, Yoshinoya Beef Bowl. Of course, we would also try and catch a Dodger game, cheer on the home team, and enjoy some Dodger dogs and beers.

We would also explore some of the more unique areas, such as the Arts District and Melrose Ave, for shopping. For outdoor activities, we could go hiking at Runyon Canyon or the Hollywood Hills.

At night, we could hit up some bars and clubs in West Hollywood or Downtown LA. And if we wanted to take a break from the city, we could take a day trip to Malibu or go wine tasting in Santa Barbara.

Overall, there is so much to see and do in LA, and I would want my friend to experience as much of it as possible.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I just gotta give a shoutout to my parents – they’re the real MVPs! Honestly, I couldn’t have made it this far without their incredible support. They’ve been my biggest cheerleaders throughout my journey and career, and I can’t thank them enough.

And let’s not forget all the sacrifices they’ve made along the way. They’ve gone above and beyond to help me get to where I am today. I mean, they’ve made some serious personal sacrifices to make sure I had everything I needed to succeed.

All in all, I’m just so grateful for their love and dedication. They’ve been there for me through thick and thin, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to express my immense gratitude for my amazing girlfriend, Pang Thor. She’s been a constant source of motivation and encouragement in my photography journey, always pushing me to reach new heights and providing unwavering support along the way.

Her selflessness and willingness to lend a hand whenever I need it have been a game-changer for me, and I’m beyond grateful to have her by my side. Honestly, she’s my biggest fan, and her belief in me has been instrumental in my progress. I feel incredibly lucky to have her in my life, and I can’t wait to see where our journey takes us next.
