We had the good fortune of connecting with Heidi Tann and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heidi, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The key is “commitment”, you have to do the work, invest in yourself and stop making excuses, no one will invest in you if you don’t want to put the amount of work. It also includes not only doing music but taking care of your body, health, emotional and social well-being, There has to be a balance to stay in the game. Enjoy the ride!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think all artist are equally talented, but what sets us apart is our dedication, humility, consistency and the willingness to learn, I am humbled by the attention I have received from the listeners in such a short amount of time that I released my first album. I am excited to come out with new music for 2022 and have been blessed getting collaborations from different musicians and composers. Being able to know my brand is the same as getting to know me, i believe i have been authentic of who I am and my humble beginnings growing up in the Philippines and now residing here in Southern California and to be given a chance to write and produce music is an incredible honor.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take him/her to a local spot here in Long Beach, Cerritos like a seafood restaurant or any Asian restaurant because of my ethnicity as an Asian
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
