We had the good fortune of connecting with Leticia Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leticia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With starting Aurora L my thought process was to pair fashion with an environment of self-love to highlight that everyone is valuable, truly one-of-a-kind and holds importance. Initially, Aurora L Clothing started off as The Bodysuit Lounge about five years ago, but as I began to grow I started recognizing my business is not just a hustle but rather a new beginning. So, after i got fired (lol) I set out to spread self-love to the world through fashion, and the struggle was real! The world will really try to convince you that what you think you could do with the vision in your heart is impossible, when it’s not! It may be difficult but it’s not impossible.You might have to develop traits, set boundaries, let go of bad habits, be patient but it’s not impossible and sometimes we just need a reminder. So through fabulous fashion, beautiful mink lashes and unique self-love vibes Aurora L intends to spread self-love because God has placed something magical in you that ONLY YOU can contribute to the world, so be unapologetically authentically you, live life and look amazing while doing it!

What should our readers know about your business?
Aurora L’s driving passion is to promote self-love in such a way it changes your negative perspective of self to one of love, confidence and importance. To do so, Aurora L Clothing incorporates motivational quotes, videos of encouragement, and a unique self-love vibe all while offering jaw dropping apparel, fluffy mink lashes and handmade lash trays. The dedication, love and creativity that it takes to execute that driving passion is what separates Aurora L because you don’t just shop, you experience!

After getting fired, I thought it was my time to shine, to really step out on faith and run my business. Then not even a month later the Pandemic hit. I had no idea what to do with no job, no income, and no security especially not having any experience in how to run my own business at all. God is so good because during that time I got to understand I need to learn who I am and love myself which kick started my self-love journey as well as building the foundation of Aurora L. With figuring out who I am I had to answer “what motivates you?” I realized its my mistakes because they are a gateway to my development. I never thought I was enough, I always felt invaluable and insignificant so in times of doubt and will I feel discouraged by my mistakes I understand it’s not a death sentence to the situation. I become self-aware, refocus and adjust to win anyways! I’m most proud of discovering what motivates me because it fuels my attitude of determination and helps me to keep going. Not enough money… WIN ANYWAYS! Don’t feel any support… WIN ANYWAYS! No matter that situation… I can WIN ANYWAYS!

Aurora L Clothing would like to share with the world that what you think you can do with your gift is POSSIBLE! No matter if you don’t have much money, many resources, kids, limited time, or only so much education… YOU CAN DO IT! You are not operating out of any deficiency or lack, all that you have is everything you need to accomplish what’s in your heart. God has placed something magical in you that only you can contribute to the world! Love yourself and #ShopAuroraL

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like a nice rooftop or outdoor venue with my squad but what I appreciate most is a heavy handed bar tender. Lol Spots like Perch DTLA, Eureka, and LA Ale Works are vibes I enjoy with my gang.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I thank God for the blessing of Aurora L, but with starting a business you experience a lot of highs and lows and to stay sane it takes a ton of prayer, patience, resources and a village! Thank you Londun (co-owner of HyperFem) for thinking and connecting me with Shoutout LA, I really appreciate having the opportunity to speak about my business and share my passions. My village, Andre (Creator of What The Fragrance), Zaakiyah (CEO of Canary Swim), Aaron, and Carolina (CEO of Beyond Beleaf) I am so blessed to have you in my life and/or to have been inspired by you in how you manage your time, conduct business and keep your drive! I am so grateful for Fonda and Bridgette for keeping me going! There’s been a few times where I didn’t want to get out of bed, when I wanted to cry all day or when my frustrations lead me to give up and without hesitation you were there. Whether it was wisdom or wine I appreciate your time, encouragement and love. Definitely grateful for Pastor Michael Todd who wrote Relationship Goals and Dr. Dharius Daniels who wrote Relational Intelligence, the wisdom and encouragement in these books helps in every area of life and provides clarity.
