We had the good fortune of connecting with LinaDrae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LinaDrae, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I always know to keep going because this isn’t about just me anymore. During my career journey I’ve inspired a lot of people. I continue to get messages from people telling me how much they support me and that is why I can’t give up. Sometimes other people believe in me more than I believe in myself and I can’t let them down.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like be just being genuine in my art is what sets me aside from a lot of other artists. It’s too many “fake it til you make it” mindsets in this industry and I refuse to think that way. I’m most proud of and excited about releasing my first album hopefully by the end of 2022. I got where I am today by working hard and staying true to myself. It’s honestly a rollercoaster of emotions. Sometimes I feel like things are coming so easily and I’m on top of the world and other times I feel like this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. In all honesty the people who support me are the ones who help me over come the challenges. Just knowing I have support is enough to keep going. I’ve learned that being a great artist isn’t always enough. This is a business at the end of the day and you need to know how to run your art as a business otherwise you’re going to be waiting on your “big break” forever. I want the world to know that me and my brand represent women empowerment and feeling sexy in your own skin.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t get out much so this is a hard question for me but for sure I’m taking my best friend to Baja mar to eat, maybe some escape rooms and laser tag. In my opinion the most exciting places to check out are interactive places. I like playing games and having fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my mom for supporting me in my career and just life in general. She’s never judged me and always stood by me even when I was wrong.
