We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsay, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Never settle. Always know that you got where you are through you’re own navigation and instinct. Trust your ability to know what’s best for you and never settle for anything less than what you believe you deserve.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I moved to Los Angeles last July. It was something I always knew I had to do. From the moment I got my license I knew that I wanted my career to have an upward trajectory. Moving to a big city felt like the one and only move forward. It was no small feat, and while I know I have a long way to go, I’m very excited for what challenges are around the corner.

I’ve been a professional makeup artist for 7 years now. Enough time to have enough clients that I couldn’t count but have managed to learn from each and every one of them. All clients are different and it’s so important to be able to effectively communicate their expectations. I want every single person that sits in my chair to feel beautiful, confident, and most importantly, comfortable. From weddings to low budget films to SFX, my knowledge grows every time I pick up a brush.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m fairly new to Los Angeles. It’s a beautifully chaotic city that always provide something to be discovered. For me the winner and main focus would be the food. The food here never fails to be less than spectacular! Firstly it would be the Korean BBQ and the street food in Mid City and of course Koreatown. Then it would be a show at The Regent in DTLA followed by the nearest taco truck because I have yet to experience a miss at any that I’ve been to. Lastly would be the variety of iconic desserts; Porto’s, Magnolia Bakery and last but not least, Salt and Straw.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad. He’s always supported my path to happiness and fulfillment for as long as I can remember.
