We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Beauty. Hands down anything that appeals to my eye, my touch, all my senses, really. Anything beautiful. Whether it’s a painting, a piece of clothing, a part of literature, a photograph, a colorful palette and texture of food laid delicately on a white plate, a gorgeous red Peonie dropped all over my house, or the beautiful sound of a musical instrument, I’m a sucker for the guitar.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nowadays I spend most of my time writing for blogs, magazines, and social media. Always about beauty. But throw in some Wellness, Culture, Music, woman’s health, and parenting. My writing is fresh, honest, and raw, from the latest Tanning Oils to what music to download if you want to strip tease for your partner to the joys (ha) of raising teens.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we were starting downtown, I’d take them to Freehand in Los Angeles for delicious signature cocktails while we’d take in the fantastic views of Downtown LA. Then mosey on over to LA’s oldest bar, the Brokenshaker, for great whiskey and classic rock playing in the background. It takes you right back. After a night of drinking and possibly dreadful hangover, I’d take them to the best Korean Spa in LA. “Olympic Spa” to get rubbed, exfoliated, and stretched into positions you never dreamed you could.

Or, if we were on my side of town, I’d take them hiking at Franklin Canyon for a fantastic workout, with beautiful views, including the adorable dogs you get to meet along the way.

Then for a delicious, mouthwatering dinner at Madeo in West Hollywood for the best Italian in LA. I promise you will go home happy, complete, and content, but your bank account won’t. It’s pretty pricey

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Unfortunately, I never had a mentor. I would say life events influenced me to become an artist. My childhood dream was to become a film director, but school wasn’t that easy for me, and life well… happened. So I dove into my writing as early as five years old. I even printed my own magazine, wrote articles, took photos of my pets and my neighbor’s animals, and distributed them around my hood. Charged 50 cents a pop. I was always finding creative ways to make money and express myself. Around my mid-twenties, I started a cosmetic line called “Cheeky Cosmetics.”,.
