We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Song Sutton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, how do you think about risk?
The most successful people I know have a high appetite for risk, but that’s definitely coupled with a very optomistic point of view. I ascribe to the idea of mitigated risk. Even when I started my first company (Sin City Cupcakes) I still kept my day job. I worked fulltime at a law firm and then on nights and weekend, I was helping my co-founder Dannielle bake cupcakes, run delivieries, set up events etc. I didn’t leave my law firm job until we had increased our revenue with the business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a diviersified entrepreneur. My business portfolio includes real estate, venture capital and mailbox stores. I love getting to learn and grow across various and different industries, as I’ve always been naturally curious. I’ve learned that hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard. And that sometimes you can suceed simply by playing the long game and outlasting the competition.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Las Vegas and something many people don’t realize is how incredible our food is. We have every type of food/cuisine from Michelin star, fancy and French, to the best hand pulled noodles in Chinatown, sushi, soup dumplings, BBQ, soul food, hot pot shabu and everything in between.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I”m so grateful to my parents, business partners and mentors who have been with me through the journey.
