Meet Lisa Zipken | Founder and CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Zipken and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what do you attribute your success to?
Connection and collaboration are without a doubt among the most important factors behind Kinetic State’s success! First and foremost with our clients, but also with the incredible teaching artists and wellness practitioners we work alongside.
We are beginning a brand new collaboration with One Yoga International (Janine Forte), Wellness Juice (Agustina Bianculli), Next Stage Art Therapy (Didi Grisé-Moses), and Voxwell Sound Therapy (Roxanne Charette).
Together, we are bringing in-office wellness day retreats to our corporate clients, offering both in-house and virtual retreat experiences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a somatic movement artist and the founder of Kinetic State. I help people reconnect with their bodies so they can feel more confident, creative, and at ease in how they show up at work and in their lives.
I started in performance spaces, but I began to notice how many people were struggling with this in everyday environments, especially at work. So now I bring this work into corporate spaces through day-long, in-office wellness retreats, and we’re expanding into multi-day experiences, both in person and virtually.
What’s interesting is that even in high-performing environments, many of the challenges people face aren’t just mental, they’re physical.
Most people are operating primarily from the mind, and over time that creates a real disconnect from the body.
You see it in very tangible ways. People struggle with public speaking, their voice drops off at the end of sentences, or they lose access to their breath when they feel uncomfortable or under pressure. That can lead to anxiety, or even panic.
What’s powerful is that it doesn’t take anything extreme to shift that. Small changes in posture and breath can have an immediate impact. People feel more grounded, more present, and more confident, even in high-pressure moments.
That’s what these retreats create. Space for people to reset, reconnect, and come back into themselves.
And when that happens, communication improves, presence strengthens, and teams feel more connected and energized.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding this work and bringing it to more organizations. I really believe workplaces can support well-being, creativity, and human connection, and I’m excited to keep building experiences that make that possible.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my husband, Ben. He is always loving and supportive, and he dreams big for Kinetic State’s future right alongside me!
