Meet Liz ‘DJ Royelle’ Diaz | Mother | DJ | Entrepreneur | Philanthropist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz ‘DJ Royelle’ Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz ‘DJ Royelle’, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The main ingredients that have helped me to succeed and to continue to thrive are, having a vision first. If there is no vision, there is no dream to fulfill. The second habit that has helped me to succeed is having determination. Having determination is having courage. The courage to continue even when things don’t look too well. And lastly, networking. Networking has played a huge role in helping me to succeed. This is all about meeting new people and learning from the best. Networking has helped me to open up my eyes to new ideas. To help motivate me, and to become a better person, a better mother, a better entrepreneur, a better Business woman. To me, that is success.

Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I believe what sets me apart is my unique experience over the years. Experience, you cannot buy, sell or trade. I am blessed to have close to 15 years of DeeJaying. I have learned from the best, studied the craft and made it my own. I have Deejayed in both foreign countries and throughout the United States. My most proudest moment was deejaying for the U.S. Military in the Middle East for close to a month. Deejaying for our Men and Women in uniform was an special moment, I will never forget. Other times, I just love to play for all my powerful women out there, because at the end of the day, I am them. We can relate to the same songs and sing out loud without having a care in the world after long day after work. I look back at my early days of deejaying and I wouldn’t really change anything. Yes, there were times, I didn’t play my best and there are times where I just didn’t want to play but I did. All in all, looking back at some of my gigs, any negative experience I had was never really a bad one. I was able to learn from my mistakes, and fix complicated issues. This is what has made me become the DJ I am today. I’ve learned that sometimes everything doesn’t need to be perfect and that sometimes going with the flow was just better. In the end, I felt like I was meant to be a DJ. I couldn’t see myself having any other creative experience. Music has always been within me and if you like how I play and I end up making you dance, I’ve done my job. I want people to know me as someone who cares (beneath the DJ facade). Someone who cares to make your special day/event, even more special. Someone who used their platform to help others. Because to me, paying it forward is what’s it’s all about. Oh.. and that I was a awesome mom 🙂

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my bestie outdoors! First on the list would be a beautiful hike at the Palos Verdes Estates shoreline. This hike overlooks Pacific Coast and has so many beautiful flowers throughout the hike! Next stop would be brunch at the Catalina Kitchen. This place has amazing food and view! Another favorite spot of mine is, Belmont Shore in Long beach CA., where there are countless number of restaurants and bars on the main street. We would also visit Mother’s beach to relax and take in all the sun. And lastly, to end the trip on a relaxing note, a nice day at DuBenne Day Spa, in Lomita CA. Were we would get massages, and get our nails done or just hang out in the steam room or sauna.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to thank my family, my daughter and my close friends. They are always cheering me on. It doesn’t matter what direction I would like to go, they are there to support me. The unconditional support over the years has helped to feel secure in my decisions. I also would like to thank my LatinaFest family for always trusting me and supporting me. And lastly, I like to thank God, for my many blessing over the years. I am so grateful!
