Today we’re excited to be connecting with London Alexander again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

London, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
My name is London Alexander, I’m proudly and unapologetically queer as f*ck. I’m on an adventure roadtripping all around the U.S. checking out queer areas in each city, documenting it on my YouTube channel, Queer Across America. I want to show that no matter where you are, there’s a queer community for you.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
In 2019, I set out to live on the road as I traveled around the country to explore queer communities in each state. The pandemic completely derailed the adventure and stranded me in a state where I didn’t know a single person. I was able to do small trips here and there, but—thanks to the dangers of Covid, the political nonsense of the time, and overall safety concerns and uncertainty—I wasn’t able to fully commit to my vision. BUT, that has finally changed with a complete revamp of the Queer Across America YouTube Channel and the project as a whole. There are so many more destinations with more being added each day, much higher quality filming, a Patreon for exclusive vids and merchandise, a community Discord to stay connected, and I’ve even added a section for queer book reviews and a book club!

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

Favorite Movie: The Labyrinth

Favorite Book: James Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room

Favorite TV Show: BoJack Horseman

Favorite Band or Artist: As I Lay Dying

Favorite Sport (to watch): Pro Wrestling

Favorite Breakfast Food: Cold Pizza

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
You’ve got to court discomfort. Being a solo queer traveler creates plenty of anxiety on top of the fun mental health challenges I already have to deal with. But I’ve learned that the more I’m afraid to do something, the more likely I should be doing it. People always say they wish they could travel but it’s “too hard” or “too scary.” Honestly, it is both of those things. It’s also lonely too with tons of challenges that pop up at the worst times. But, if you want to do something badly enough, you can’t let those things hold you back. Everything involves some sort of sacrifices. Even staying in your hometown and working a 9 to 5 job has its sacrifices. It’s all about what you’re willing to give up for what you will get in return. I’ve decided to give up stability, comfort–shit, even money–and so many other things, but what I get in return has been completely worth it. You can see that in every episode of Queer Across America–the fulfillment, the adventure, the digital community that is being created through queer traveling.
