We had the good fortune of connecting with Lora Levison and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lora, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
During times where I feel a significant level of discomfort, I’ve learned it’s time to shift towards something BIGGER, ultimately to grow, glow and level up. Leaning into the unknown while showing up for yourself is always a challenge, but why give up when the next chapter is vastly approaching and the best has yet to come? I do things for myself to feel better about myself every day to feel good in my own skin. Life is all about sharing real and raw stories, to help others feel less alone and more human. I decided to share my life story through my up and coming musical, “Father Daughter Dance.”
I started writing music purely as a cathartic release while diving deep into shadow work and healing my inner child. As a performing artist, I write and sing music from the most vulnerable aspects of my being through voice, song, frequency and storytelling. I create from my highest good, expressing myself and shining my light for those still in the dark. Transforming my own pain into art, I didn’t know exactly how I would present it all to the world, until it dawned on me… “Lora, you are going to tell your story through a musical.”
Over the past two years, I’ve been collaborating with my co-writer, Daniel Sheiman, to create the ultimate masterpiece. As of today, the first draft of the screenplay is complete and we are now in revisions. I could of given up, went down a dark path and lived a completely different life, but I chose to KEEP GOING and share my story with the world.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Creative and authentic to the core, I am a Performing Artist and Community Director for startups.
Born to perform in all capacities, I am fortunate to do it all and never get bored–– especially in Los Angeles. I sing about my life, host tv shows and large scale events, model for big brands, act and dance in major motion pictures, and am unapologetically myself as a tv personality. When I’m not performing, I’m usually freelancing on a project with a startup, curating communities all over the globe. I’m fluent in the art of telling engaging stories, passionate about creating community and all things people. Over the past six years, I’ve blossomed as a Community Director for female-founded tech startups, luxury fashion and beauty brands, esports and gaming startups to independent artists. Checking many boxes, my background ranges from community directing and development, creative directing, social media content creation, paid media and negotiations, press and influencer relations, brand partnerships to hosting live events all over the nation. I’m every startup’s dream team member, usually traveling all over for my clients or working remotely.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First things first, I dedicate this interview to every single human that is doing the work, healing their inner child and choosing to reach for the stars every day despite the odds. When you do things for yourself to feel better about yourself, you’re always winning.
Special shoutout to Daniel Sheiman, the co-writer of my upcoming musical “Father Daughter Dance.”
Special shoutout to my family; we’ve had everything, nothing and just enough.
