We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorenzo Antonucci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lorenzo, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think taking risks and betting on yourself is the only way it works, “no risks no rewards” If you haven’t felt the pain of putting it all on the line and getting in so much debt “you cant breath” because you believe in what you’re doing. You’re either really lucky or just way smarter than me lol
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an actor and film maker there’s nothing better than seeing all your projects getting made and staying creative in every aspect during the process. If this was easy everyone would do it, it’s the hardest business in the world and if you know that going into it and ready for all the rejections, you’ll overcome the challenges.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d like to take my friend to Erewhon lol because they don’t have it anywhere else in the world lol — I would also take them to the valley and let them enjoy the Ventura Blvd culture which I really love. I couldn’t help myself and take them to Palm Springs CA – thats my favorite place in the state.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna give a shoutout to my Father Lorenzo Antonucci who moved to from Naples Italy to this country post WW2 and raised his family by just getting by. I love him for teaching everything I know about being a good man. My Dad is a very very strict man and when I didn’t want to go to School he said.. “you don’t wanna go to school? you’re gonna go to work!” So he made me go work at Pete & Joes Auto-body shop in Middle Village Queens NY. Thats where I met his best friend Joe and Joe became like my 2nd father. Joe has taught me so much about never giving up and with out him and my Dad i wouldn’t be half the man I am today.
