Meet Lori Balue

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lori Balue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lori, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I have successfully lost 100lbs on my keto weight loss journey. I have taken my success and created my brand around aging beautifully and adventurously while living this lifestyle and inspiring other women over 50 to look at life as a health adventure. The fact that I am doing this, living active at 62 & adventurously, maintaining my successful weight loss as a woman over 50 without disease or medication and having reclaimed my health has made my brand powerful. My certainty, conviction, inspiration, motivation for low carb nutrition has lead to my longevity lifestyle as a health adventure to age adventurously.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business was developed by my functional diagnostic nutrition education and my lived experience of being an obesity survivor and losing 100lbs. My lived experience helps to inspire and guide other women to reclaim their health to live longer with less disease to age active and healthy over 50. I am grateful and proud of how far I’ve come in the last 5 years of taking my pain to purpose story and creating this business which has become my professional and personal passion and a lifestyle of aging adventurously for myself and for my clients.
Where I am today’s has not been easy. I’ve had mentors from day one of learning how to be a health coach practitioner and applying all the principles I have learned towards the success I have today. I have taken out loans on credit cards to pay for masterminds and coaches to support me and all my money I make goes back into the business, the bills and the lifestyle I’ve designed to age adventurously over 62 to inspire and motivate women through social media. But through it all I have stayed excited, resilient and determined to be successful and am so grateful to be helping other women thrive as well.
I’ve learned along the way is that we all need support, accountability and mentors. We just can’t see what we don’t know. If you want to fast track success, you need a mentor to guide you around your blind spots in knowledge and execution. I do this as well with my clients:: collapse the time it takes to get results. I couldn’t have reached the success I have without the mentors and education I had.
My brand guides women to reclaiming the 2nd half of their life to live longer, stay active and find joy while living life as they design feeling beautiful in their body with optimized health and permanent weight loss. I love my brand; I am my brand.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens and have a membership. I take my friends as well as clients here to walk the beautiful gardens. I advocate getting out in nature, grounding, sunlight and fresh air and movement to help create life as a health adventure to reduce inflammation in the body and optimize weight loss. I love the patio cafe that is at the entrance to the gardens. You can sit in the outdoor patio and overlook the garden with red Bougainvillea vines draping the pergola. The food is good quality and you can even just get coffee and work as I do often just to soak up a soft breeze outside with nature. I like ordering a taco bowl with just meat and veggies, avocado and salsa which I customize for my lowcarb/keto meal.
I would do a drive to the coast to see the pelicans fly and walk barefoot in the sand for grounding.
A visit to the Griffith observatory for a hike, pack a low carb picnic.
In Long Beach I would stop off for the free range rotisserie chicken called Noble Bird where you could also walk the marina.
I love the Odyssey in the San Fernando valley for an early dinner in the patio. It overlooks the whole valley and is a spectacular place to have a meal.
I am not a city girl as much as a garden girl, a hiker and a half marathoner. My activities all resolve around walking and nature exploration. You will find me walking barefoot at nature centers and encouraging other to get sunlight and do the same. Thats how to create more longevity.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dave Asprey and the author of the “Bulletproof Die” book and lifestyle that saved my life. I reversed prediaberes rather than developed diabetes, reversed asthma, corrected sore degenerating knees and arthritis, detoxed melanoma from my body because I followed his recommendations and process.
