We had the good fortune of connecting with Luca Fiorini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luca, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
When I decided to move to the United States and embark in this incredible journey as an entrepreneur I promised myself I would treat every single client with the same level of respect, attention to details and professionalism. This is an approach that may not pay off right away but I can ensure it does in the long run. The small venue booking or micro-event production you worked on a few years ago can lead to an important referral for a huge project tomorrow. This is one of my number one rules, and this is what has made Piovra Group the event company it is today.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In 2019, after a decade spent in venue management and consulting, I decided to found Piovra Group, a venue booking and venue consulting agency based in Los Angeles and Orange County. We consider ourselves venue “matchmakers” as we have one goal in mind: secure the right event space for our clients in the least amount of time possible. Our innovative approach saves clients and venues precious time and energy as we only present our clients with venue options that satisfy their needs. Our venue partners take advantage of the experience our team has built in the last decade of venue management, event production, venue marketing and sales that allow us to increase their event leads and turn them into event bookings. When looking for an event space, you can handle the venue search on your own, spending weeks if not months looking through the dozen of venue listings you can find online and ending up booking a space at a premium price. Or you can contact us and let us handle the entire process saving you money and time. Another great factor to take into consideration is that we know our venues very well and we will only present you with venue options we are sure will work for your event and production needs. We have seen our venues in action during hundreds of events and we know how to point you in the right direction. With that said, why would you want to look for a space on your own when you can count on the expertise of Piovra Group and its incredible team of Venue MatchMakers?
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think Los Angeles has a lot of very interesting and exciting spots to offer based on what you are looking to do. I would definitely dedicate a day to enjoy the incredible beaches and restaurants Malibu has to offer. One of my favorite restaurants is “The Sunset Restaurant” right on the beach where you can enjoy Oysters and wine while watching the sunset. If you love Italian food I recommend Osteria Mamma. It is my favorite Italian restaurant and I feel like I am back in Italy every time I decide to have lunch or dinner there. If you prefer Mexican food you can’t miss the incredible tacos and margaritas at Candela Restaurant on La Brea Ave. The restaurant offers a great ambience and behind it you can find a large event space available for private events. If you like hikes then you can’t leave the city without enjoying the hiking trails Runyon Canyon and the Griffith Park have to offer. If you are a fan of lounges & bars then West Hollywood and Hollywood are the two areas you want to consider. I love the vibe that Ysabel Restaurant and Lounge has to offer and the views of Mama Shelter, EP & LP or the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Rooftop in Beverly Hills.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my incredible family who currently lives in Italy. Their support throughout the 10 years I have spent in California, on the other side of the planet, has been crucial and I am incredibly grateful for all of the words of encouragements they have shared with me during the challenging times all entrepreneurs face during their careers. I would also like to take a moment to thank all of my business partners, colleagues, vendors and clients that, project after project, have helped me become the professional I am today. I would have never been able to do it without the experiences (good and bad) that I have been through and the exciting event productions and work projects I was honored to be a part of in the last decade.
