We had the good fortune of connecting with Major Bunton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Major, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I read the four agreements. The impact this book had on me, was truly life-changing. What it taught me was the agreements that I made with myself as a teenager into my adulthood, could actually be relearn with new agreements. It gave me a starting point of agreements. Don’t take things personal, Don’t make assumptions, Be impeccable with your words and always do your best. Once I was able to internalize the new agreements life became better.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The power of the arts is a key component to my transformation. It simply allow me to work through some heavy trauma through simple games, exercise. Growing up around drugs gangs and violence became the norm to overcome that took alot of time and patience to see my full potential. Now I us the same techniques that was taught to me to give to our youth in juvenile halls.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Hollywood walk of fame than grab some nice Asia dish follow by some stand up comedy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to my mentor Kevin Water, Made New Foundation, Creative Acts, Inglewood wrapping arms around the community.
