Meet Mandy P | Anti-Porn Advocate & Women’s Empowerment Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mandy P and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mandy, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I’m a meditation teacher, breathwork facilitator, Women’s Empowerment Life Coach, and Trauma-informed Life Coach. One of my current projects (my podcast “WTF Do I Do Now?”) raises awareness about something that negatively affects the majority of the population but few people speak up against due to its taboo nature: porn. I’m on a mission to educate people on how porn is scientifically proven to be rewiring people’s brains and negatively impacting relationships as a result. I’m not here to shame those who do watch it but rather offer an educational place backed by years of research by experts in the field and a safe space for people to share their porn struggles and healing journey, whether they compulsively consume it or they discovered their romantic partner has a secret porn and sex addiction. My podcast has interviewed people around the world including licensed sexual addiction therapists, trauma professionals, activists, author, former OnlyFans recruiter, porn addiction recovery coach, women who discovered their partner’s secret porn addiction, people who overcame a porn addiction, and more.
It all started when I was living with my partner and discovered his secret porn and sex addiction. We broke up and I thought I was the only woman who had experienced this, but then I met thousands of women who were experiencing Partner Betrayal Trauma from a secret porn addiction in their relationships. I got curious so I started researching the data, speaking with experts, and quickly learned about the secret porn addiction epidemic our society is experiencing.
Research shows porn consumption is highly addictive and linked to increased anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, lower self-esteem, up to 3x the rate of infidelity, less relationship satisfaction, less sexual satisfaction, substance abuse, more loneliness, and poorer body image. It corrupts the brain’s reward system, decreases gray matter in the brain’s prefrontal cortex, increases gray matter in the amygdala, dysregulates dopamine, and more. Even worse, A 2021 study found that people who struggle with compulsive porn consumption experienced twice the rate of suicidal ideation and more than 3x the rate of suicide attempts when compared to the general public.
It’s a taboo topic people are often afraid to speak up about because it’s fueled by shame and isolation, but I believe by starting the conversation we can educate one another to know you’re not alone in your pain, and healing is possible. We can be the change we wish to see in the world and help protect the younger generations who are experiencing porn’s damaging effects the most.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
While my podcast focuses on raising awareness about porn’s harms, I’m also a certified meditation teacher, breathwork facilitator, Women’s Empowerment Life Coach, Trauma-informed Life Coach, and run my own affiliate marketing consulting company.
I’m most stoked about launching a women’s empowerment coaching business dedicated to helping women reclaim their power, overcome obstacles, and thrive in every aspect of life. I’m passionate about helping women step into their power and create their best lives. Whether they’re navigating the aftermath of a breakup, career changes, trauma, unhealthy relationships, or just feeling generally “stuck”, “behind”, or uninspired in life… I want to help them navigate life with confidence and resilience because I’ve been there.
At one point in my life, I was let go from my corporate career during their third round of mass layoffs, then two months later I found out my live-in partner had a secret porn and sex addiction. I left and was homeless, jobless, and at my lowest mentally so I decided to become the coach I desperately needed. I traveled alone in Southeast Asia for three months and took every class imaginable when it came to healing, empowerment, trauma, and spirituality. Now that I’ve empowered myself, I want to teach others everything I learned in a much quicker process.
I believe every woman (and person!) deserves to live a life filled with self-love, self-worth, and self-confidence. My passion is to help empower women to break free from self-limiting beliefs and a lifetime of societal conditioning and guide them toward a path of fulfillment and joy.
Drawing from a diverse range of certifications and tools, including mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, somatic exercises, empowerment, trauma-informed, and more, my coaching methodology encompasses nervous system regulation, embodiment, mindset work, menstrual cycle syncing, inner child techniques, future-self visualization, the law of attraction, and more to provide a powerful toolkit for transformation that they can utilize in every area of their life.
My mission is simple: to empower women to realize their worthiness and unlock their full potential. I want to help women move from surviving to thriving in every area of their lives and to help them realize they are worthy and capable of creating the life they truly desire.
As I mentioned earlier, over a year ago I was let go during the mass layoffs in tech. I was devastated and felt like a failure because my identity was in my career, but the corporate world was draining me mentally so I decided to take the risk and start my own affiliate marketing consulting company. I had A LOT of fear, hesitation, and inner criticism about the unknowns, “what ifs”, and fear of failure, but I took the leap of faith and have been working for myself for over a year now. That was my first introduction to the entrepreneur world and there were a lot of times when I doubted myself, but everything I learned along the way eventually gave me the confidence to dive deeper into the entrepreneurial world with a new podcast and life coaching.
I underestimated how much work it would take and how lonely of a journey it can be working long hours by yourself, but I’ve found co-working spaces to be incredibly helpful to chat with other entrepreneurs. The irony is that I left the 9-5 corporate life so I could have more work-life balance, but now I find myself working 24/7. The difference is that now I’m passionate about what I’m creating and I know it’s making a difference in my life (and the lives of others), so most of the time it doesn’t feel like work, which is cliche, but it’s been worth it every step of the way. I’m continuously amazed at the new opportunities and people that enter your life when you decide to chase your dharma. I cannot recommend it enough.
The best piece of advice an entrepreneur gave me when I was planning my company in Bali was “What is your ‘why’? WHY do you want to create this? Write it down and read it every day. Don’t focus on your “how”. Focusing on your “how” will always leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and afraid. Meditate and manifest on your “why” every single morning and each stepping stone for your “how” will unfold day by day.”
Take the leap of faith. It will always be worth it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love escaping the business of LA and spending time in mellow places and nature. To me, mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga are medicine for the soul so my first stop would be taking a class at Shefayoga and Open in Venice, or a cannabis-infused yoga class at The Artist Tree. If it’s the first Sunday of the month, I’ll definitely be hitting up Superbloom’s Beach Club for yoga, dancing, and some of the nicest people in LA. If it’s a work day, you can catch me working in MUD/WTR and getting distracted chatting with inspiring entrepreneurs. When it comes to food, my love language is 401K, Sinners & Saints, Kazu Nori, Chulita, Nobu, Cafe Gratitude, Sage, and street taco stands.
Weekends are for biking along the ocean, soaking in nature at Huntington Library, or hiking in Topanga and Malibu, followed by food along the PCH (ideally Juicy Ladies or Neptune’s Net), beach bonfire at Dockweiler and (attempting to) stargaze.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents and sisters have been my lifeline while navigating my healing journey, encouraging me unconditionally, and empowering me to find my voice in advocacy and entrepreneurship. My therapists, life coaches, friends, spirituality community, Partner Betrayal Trauma support group, and all the healers and facilitators in the wellness space I’ve met along the way have made a profound impact on my self-discovery and entrepreneur journey. Thank you for constantly encouraging me to use my voice to advocate and follow my intuition no matter how scary it feels at times!
Also, if you’re navigating PTSD, I highly recommend reading the book “The Unexpected Gift of Trauma: The Path to Posttraumatic Growth” by Dr. Edith Shiro.
