We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Lucero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Many things came into perspective when deciding to start my own business, I knew I would be able to positively impact many lives. Coming into this I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but as I always say; nothing worthwhile comes easy. I was aware that there would be difficult times, but I chose and promised to bet on myself every time. Life is about the risks you decide to take, and that’s what also goes into starting a business. As most people say, “scared money doesn’t make money”. Alongside that it shows that I am a regular person, it could help motivate the next person, my spouse or even my kids. If I can do it…Why can’t you?
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Body sculpting is a non-invasive way to work on or enhance your body. What separates me from others, is that I am always finding different techniques for different body types. I make sure I follow up with their results, how they’re feeling, is their current workout or diet routine working for them? I take pride in the quality of my work, the results I am able to achieve, and how I am able to educate my clients. There have been long work days, countless hours researching different products to launch, and several days-if not months of research on different machines and services to add to the menu. It has been challenging because in order to make money in a business, you have to invest money. I have overcome many challenges because of my support system, as well as the love and support I continuously receive from my clients. Along the way I have learned that what works for one person, may not work for the other. I work differently from most people, I take risks and try different things to see if we can achieve better or more. The world deserves to know that for most of my clients I have become more than just their Body Sculptor. It can be a therapeutic session, while working on your appearance. They should know that my brand represents self love, self care, unlocking new and better versions of yourself you never knew to exist. Jus Sculpting is the definition of working on yourself, while working on yourself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA is such a diverse city, I love it. One of my favorite places to go for breakfast has to be “Bea Bea`s”! They have 1 location in Burbank, and another in Glendale.
They serve a variety of breakfast plates, but my favorite has to be their matcha green tea pancakes!
I recently discovered this place called “LA Horror Escapes” in DTLA, and it was so much fun. Depending on the amount of people that come with you, you get the option of picking an escape room to unlock with your friend(s).
I enjoy the Santa Monica Promenade. You get to shop, have food and/or drinks, and watch people perform. I also enjoy bowling, there is this place in Glendale called “Jewel City Bowl” and they have a pool table, food, drinks, bowling and a mini arcade.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I owe it all to God. Without God, none of this would be possible. Secondly, I am most grateful for my dad. Since I was a kid, he always taught me never to follow..Always lead. I was always very observant to how hardworking is, and when he started his first business it simply showed me it is never too late. He showed me that we are supposed to live our lives according to our own timeline and pace, not to the expectation of the world. He definitely helped build the strong, independent, hardworking being I am today.
