Meet Mario Orazio Ruvio

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Mario Orazio Ruvio again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Mario Orazio , always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Hello my name is Mario Orazio Ruvio born in Rome the 25th of October 1993. I am an actor and a rapper. Even though I am Italian I act and rap in English which is what sets me apart from others. I have been studying English since the age of 5. After attending Aberystwyth University in Whales UK, where I studied Acting & Directing for Theatre and Film, I was accepted at The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts, in Hollywood, Los Angeles as an actor. Nowadays I am a working actor and dubber. I also obtained my dubber certificate.
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
So, since our last conversation things have not been great but I guess its part of the journey. What I mean is that since I am from Italy, I am an immigrant in U.S.A. Thus for me in order to live in America and work as an actor, I need an Artist visa(O-1) or green card. The problem is that to obtain the artist visa America wants 3 different kind of evidence:
1: 30-40 Recommendation letters only from people in the industry that I have worked with and at least 10 have to be from people that I have NOT worked with but somehow they have seen my work.
2: 15-20 articles published on me talking about my achievements.
3: major roles in major productions.
So, I arrived in L.A. when Trump was elected and then I had to go away because apparently I didn’t have enough evidence to prove that I want to be an actor after having 3 degrees and having done everything we said in the previous interview. Now I find my self in Rome trying to obtain few more evidence so I can come back to the States and keep working how I was. Because the problem here is that there is no work for actors. 1 month in L.A. equals to 1 year in Rome. Things work differently in Italy. way more slow, way more disorganised and people tend to procrastinate not days but months, especially productions.
I came back from Hollywood 3 years ago and I am still tying to come back and I will never stop trying because I know that U.S.A is where I want to compete. On the acting and music side of it. Nevertheless recently Cantera Management just took me under their wing and now they represent me so hopefully now some gigs will come through. In the mean time I survive doing 3 different jobs: Rome guide, educator agains Bullying in schools( elementary, middle, high), and private english teacher. Everything is meant to happen for a reason I strongly believe so that means I had to come back to my home town before departing again.
We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
It does not matter what happens to you but how you react to it. Meaning it matters the choices you make. The choices we make define us, they make us who we are. Just like the Matrix.
Dante Alighieri in his inferno convicts applying the law of retaliation which means he punishes the sinners with the opposite of the crime they committed. For example the lazy or uncommitted that during life have never chosen a side Dante punished them by carrying a flag for eternity. They who have never chosen a side in life dante sentences them choosing for them.
I honestly believe that no matter what happens we always have a decision to make and is up to us to make it. That is how we grow, how we live and how we learn. People that are too afraid to make choices don’t live and slowly they allow their soul to fade into nothing. So choose life, choose to choose because the best game there is to play its you! Make the decisions you wanna make and do not be afraid to fail cause only the one who fails succeeds. Fail Forward. Doesn’t matter how many times we fall but how many we get back up, Because only the one who falls knows how to get up!
