We had the good fortune of connecting with Marni Hale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marni, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With over 20 years of experience working for corporations I wanted to put all my energy towards something that I am 100% in control of. I love being part of an executive team and seeing the impact made over time but I also get bored easily. With consulting I’ve found that I can make a big impact by offering my skills to multiple companies at once while keeping my creative vibrations high.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Life is too short to have success without fulfillment. Throughout my career I’ve had a strong focus on climbing the corporate ladder. When I got to the top I realized, I wasn’t happy. My definition of success was based on a title, salary and hierarchy of a corporation. Yes, I was making an impact. Yes, I was learning and mentoring. But I found myself in a constant employee mindset making someone else a ton of money. That’s when I knew I needed to make a change. When I changed my definition of success to being in inspired action I found fulfillment. That meant taking action on things that brought me the most joy and putting off or saying no to things that didn’t. I already love working and helping businesses grow, so motivation has never been a challenge. Recognizing where I can be of most service each day is key. One day I may be optimizing a lead generation funnel, or writing email copy. Another day I may be leading a business strategy meeting or in a mastermind with like-minded individuals learning from and supporting each other. Having the freedom and flexible to follow my energy towards the most inspired action has been a game changer for both my mindset and the results I’m able to achieve for my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the beach! Living in Southern California allows us to enjoy beautiful weather all year long. Starting the day with a run/walk on the boardwalk, followed by a smoothie is a great way to start the day. Then a light lunch with a great view and people watching by the pier, followed by some shopping and ending the day with a nice happy hour is a perfect day. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Love this! I have been fortunate in my 20+ year career to work with incredible companies and brands including Mercedes-Benz USA, Bosch Home Appliances, Tom Ferry, LionDesk and a boutique PR agency with action sport clients including Hurley, US Open of Surfing and the 2002 Winter Olympics. The biggest lessons I learned throughout is the importance of your network. Surrounding yourself with people who you admire, or can mastermind with, or you can mentor greatly increases your level of knowledge. At Mercedes-Benz I learned the importance of brand. At Bosch I learned the power of grit. At Tom Ferry I learned about professional development. The book “Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod was recommended to me by a coach and has been hugely impactful to my growth ever since. What I’ve learned most is that if you can change your mindset, you can change your life.
