We had the good fortune of connecting with Maryia Danila and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maryia, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Starting your own business you always want to be better than other ones in the same field. But when you more exploring other work or trying copying them, at the end, you start to lose yourself. I began my business in a foreign country, with no native language, with other mentality, and it was very difficult to understand where should I go. After one year I mentioned when I less compare myself with someone else I grow faster, I develop myself independent from others’ minds and thoughts.
For me my work life balance is to be yourself and listen to your inner soul, when you are in balance with yourself there are always right people coming into your life, there are right opportunities appear on your way. Never cheat on yourself.

My art is my vision of photography, I am a photographer. I can not tell what sets me apart from others especially today because I still looking myself in. Time does not stand still, many genres and directions of photography are developing and I am trying to find something that personally takes my breath away. Since childhood, I noticed that I pay a lot of attention to details that adults do not notice, things that I looked at and admired – people didn’t like it, only with age, I realized that I can find something beautiful in the simplest, inconspicuous … When I decided to take up photography and retouching, I did not take any courses or graduate from colleges in photography, I looked for sources and inspiration and developed myself. It was easy because I was in love with what I do.

The challenge was how to get yourself into the photography market and tell about myself. How to attract customers. Today things are easier for me, but I do not stop, because the movement is life.

The most important thing that I have learned at this stage is not to pay attention to competitors, not to compare myself with anyone. Creativity has no boundaries and definite frames, you are you, they are they. Admiring someone and setting an example is one thing. And envy and comparison are 10 steps back in your self-development.

If I want the world to know about me, I don’t know, at least now. What people can know about my brand is creativity and quality.
My story can serve as an instructive example that human desire is capable of incredible things. The main thing is to have this desire.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am by nature a girl of nature, I do not like crowds of people, I feel insecure. I’d love to ride along the ocean, stop at a motel, grab a sandwich and sit on the sidewalk, and drive off into the desert at dawn.
The most fun for me is the people around me. I love my friends, I have fun getting together in their company, chatting heart to heart, watching a movie, and playing games. Bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. do not appeal to me ..

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If don’t mention the huge support of family, there is one person who gave me a chance and time to try to find myself in a new field and prove that I can everything, everything is in my hand- it’s my husband. A lot of people probably are going to recognize themselves in my story. When you have stability at work, but nothing pleases you and you think ” oh, I have to do that all my life without satisfaction, wake up every morning hating my job, not to have time to share it with my family and friends”, so what is it all for if I am unhappy.
My husband supported me to leave everything and start what I love- photography.
